It's both the most graphic and the most protracted kill, as the victim is scalped and flayed, while also having bones broken and salt poured into her wounds. There's no doubt it's the most objectionable and nastiest death in the movie, not least because it carries on the series' trend of saving its worst kills for its female characters. When he was younger, the budding filmmaker inadvertently awakened his mother by melting sulfur-based clay on the stove for a special effect, filling the house with foul smoke. Much has been speculated about the sword, and Damien clarifies that it isn’t supernatural in and of itself; it only gains its power when Sienna uses it to defend herself. “When she decides to fight and the fire hits the sword, that is the moment where the sword officially becomes baptized. It breaks into reality, and the sword is literally on fire.” It's also not particularly scary, although Art and his imaginary friend (it'll make sense when you see it) can be unsettling. The intensity comes from the gore, rather than any tense set pieces.

While I didn’t enjoy Terrifier 2 very much myself (you can read my 4/10 review HERE), I have been very glad to see an unrated horror movie having so much success in theatres. I’m sure the film’s success is going to continue once it’s available on streaming and physical media. Terrifier 2 final girl Sienna Shaw is Leone’s “favorite character that I ever wrote,” based in part by his two older sisters.
