Alongside Casamigos Blanco Tequila, the brand also produces it’s popular Casamigos Reposado and Casamigos Añejo Tequilas, along with other non-tequila spirits such as mezcal. You’re also safe in the knowledge that Clooney and Gerber (and their unidentified master distiller) approve of your bottle, as they personally sample each batch before it’s sold, to guarantee quality control. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it… In Mexico, tequila tends to be served chilled and immediately. Elsewhere in the world, it’s often served a little closer to room temperature for optimum aroma and taste benefits. If you’re new to the world of tequila, you’ll probably prefer it chilled for a more mild effect. Casamigos” is a portmanteau of “casa” — house, and “amigos” — friends. Concocted over lengthy dinners with friends inside their respective houses, which also happened to be inside a Mexican compound called Casamigos, it couldn’t really have been named anything more suitable.

The Casamigos brand is also the proud winner of several gold medals in various international spirits competitions including the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition, the New York World Wine and Spirits Competition and the Spirits of Mexico Tasting Competition. The story of how Casamigos started is worth telling. Clooney and Gerber were sitting at a bar one night when building their new homes in Mexico, talking about how they were still yet to find their ‘perfect tequila’ despite trying so many. That night, they decided to create their own original tequila. Those hypothetically great ideas, worth billions of dollars, that you and your closest friends come up with over dinner? That’s almost exactly how George Clooney’s tequila brand, Casamigos, was created. To calculate the average price, we add up the cheapest daily prices of the last 90 days and divide by 90. Still, it's not bad for a company that began in the Mexican holiday homes of Hollywood's elite. But analysts question whether Casamigos, which shifted a relatively modest 120,000 cases in 2016, is worth such an overblown price tag. Much like every tequila producer, Casamigos gets its blue weber agave piñas from the red clay soil and relatively cool climate of Jalisco (Mexico). While this affects the overall price of Casamigos tequila, the owners have managed to keep costs reasonable. Both have different fruits, confectioneries and spices in their respective tastes, with the 1800 Añejo displaying hints of cinnamon, candied pears, butterscotch and toasted oak (plus a finish of cocoa and banana bread). What could sink Casamigos could be the finish, as there’s a slight lingering bitter feeling in the gullet as the last of the añejogoes down.

Casamigos Reposado Tequila is a medium-bodied tequila with a rich golden honey colour. What is the Casamigos Reposado volume/size? The brand was founded by George Clooney (yes, the actor George Clooney), Rande Gerber (a nightlife entrepreneur, known more as the significant other of supermodel Cindy Crawford) and property developer Michael Meldman. Originally meant for private consumption between the trio while their Cabo San Lucas (Mexico) vacation homes were being built, the trio tried different tequilas for some time until Clooney came up with the idea to make their own alcoholic drink. Casamigos Reposado Tequila is made from hand-selected 100% Blue Weber agaves from the rich soil of the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, aged for 7 months, giving it that beautiful silky-smooth oaky vanilla taste. The benefit of this shape comes from its expansive middle, which allows the aromatic compounds of the spirit to gently waft towards your nose. Failing that, you can also drink your tequila from a wine glass. If you are determined to shoot it, look for an authentically Mexican shot glass: taller, thinner, and known as a “ caballito” shot glass — which translates to “a little horse”.

They tried 700 recipes across 2 years, finally settling on their favourite. After buying over 1000 bottles in a year from the producers they were told that to continue they would have to get a licence. At this point, they decided to go out on a whim and take their tequila public with the help of Meldman who owned the development where Clooney and Gerber were building their houses. The development was called Casamigos, hence the name of the brand, translating roughly to ‘house of friends’.

Casamigos Blanco Tequila is a clear, light-bodied Blanco tequila. What is the Casamigos Blanco Tequila volume/size? We have a 7-day return policy for items that have been despatched, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return, please note that this only relates to items that are defective or damaged. Casamigos also boasts of its processes used to make its mezcal variant. Launched in early 2018 as its first mezcal, Casamigos Mezcal has purely Espadin agave from Oaxaca (Mexico).

But Casamigos is not just celebrity hype - since it’s launching, the brand and it’s spirits have won numerous gold medal awards at various competitions such as the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition and San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Don Julio’s añejo is tasteful elegance when it comes to aged-in-oak tequila. From nose to finish, everything is bright, lightly spiced, rich and smooth, with the agave foundation of the Don Julio much evident in taste and finish. Last, the wild honey, butterscotch, lime, orange and grapefruit work hand-in-hand with the agave to create optimum tequila pleasure, from bottle opening to the last vestiges of the liquid going down the throat.
