Once disconnected take the included "pigtail" connector connecting the appropriate ends together. You can see below how they would join the power together. Looked at directly front-on, the Polestar 2 has a tough stance, with wide, flared wheelarches, while from the rear it looks again to Volvo’s past with squared-off light fittings. At 11kW the AC charger will juice the Standard Range Polestar 2 in seven hours, or the Long Range version in eight hours. It permeates every factor of the drive experience, from the steering, to the acceleration, and the grip on offer. (image: Tom White) Don’t get me wrong here, though, it’s not excessively fast, not sledgehammer brutal like the Tesla Model 3. I’d say this is down to the DNA the Polestar 2 shares with its Volvo parent company.

Forward Facing 4K UHD (2160P) Camera ensures exceptional video quality (f/1.6 aperture lens, 2160P/30fps) Rear passengers score the same comfortable seat and door trims, plus a drop-down armrest with two bottle holders. (image: Tom White)

The Polestar 2 variants will realise Polestar’s original pricing range between around 40,000 and 60,000 euros. Like almost all aspects of the Polestar 2, it’s clear that it’s been designed and developed by people who understand what makes a good car. The all-wheel drive electric powertrain in the Polestar 2 produces 408PS and 660Nm of torque. This translates to a 0-62mph acceleration time of less than 5 seconds. The touch elements are huge, and almost every function you need while driving is just two presses away, thanks to tabulated menus with simple option groups. It’s a good thing too, because more dials in this instance would clutter up an otherwise minimalist design. Is there a fuse box diagram with the voltages or someone that have used the add-a-circuit adapter willing to share the knowledge??

An interesting point of difference, but the similarity of this approach to the way cabins are naturally compromised in combustion vehicles might turn off some buyers keen to show off the spacious benefits of the EV life. The infotainment system powered by Android Automotive OS is a first for any vehicle. This provides access to Google Assistant, Google Maps and the Google Play Store. Phone-as-Key further underlines the digital nature of the vehicle, while a sophisticated Harmon Kardon sound system is also included. While a centre-mounted tablet seems to have become the hallmark of a ‘proper’ EV, the Polestar 2 also has a much more conventional digital dash that can display all the info you need – road speed, charge remaining in miles and even navigation directions. Exterior and interior design is largely indistinguishable between variants, with standard kit including 19-inch wheels, signature LED light designs front and rear, and Polestar’s signature frameless mirrors. Just like the WeaveTech vegan upholstery introduced in 2020, the new standard embossed textile upholstery is a vegan material and is available in two colour executions, matched to new 3D-etched décor panels. Other notable standard features include high performance audio with 8 speakers, front- and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.I was surprised to find how big the doors are given this car’s coupe roofline, making it easy to step in and out of. (image: Tom White) it has no screen, is a bit smaller and does not distract. I see this camera as an insurance, not a trinket to play with whilst driving The Polestar 2 has yet to be assessed by ANCAP but has a maximum five-star EuroNCAP score. (image: Tom White)

These ranges aren’t as excessive as the ones achieved by the Polestar 2’s key Tesla Model 3 rival, but are certainly healthy when weighed up against most EVs from mainstream competitors. It’s cool, but you’ll probably only get excited by it if you also found the wrap-around screen on the Samsung Galaxy sexy. We’d be more worried about how much they cost to replace.

Direct use CO2e emissions: an electric vehicle produces no direct use emissions during everyday driving, however its indirect emissions depend on the type of electricity used to charge its battery. Read more about Polestar’s view on emissions. Both devices have worked fine for the last 3-4 years in the Volt, so I can't imagine why they won't work in the PS2, barring any weirdness with PS2 radar emitters... I was surprised to find how big the doors are given this car’s coupe roofline, making it easy to step in and out of, and I also had plenty of knee room and headroom behind my own seating position, despite a raised rear bench. Build quality is higher with better panel gaps and good standards of overall fit and finish. This puts the Polestar very much on even terms with the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Kia EV6.

That’s not to say most of the key active stuff isn’t standard, you still score freeway-speed auto emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, and driver attention alert. The combustion platform compromises extend to the rear as well, with a raised transmission tunnel cluttering up the rear seat space and making the middle seat hardly comfortable for an adult.

It’s fast, too, with the dual-motor set-up proving rapid for overtaking manoeuvres, always having seemingly limitless torque in reserve. Connectivity and digital integration also continue as Polestar 2 hallmarks. The famed Android Automotive OS-powered infotainment system with its 11-inch centre display and 12.3-inch driver display is featured as standard on all models. Integrated into the new Polestar app with other vehicle functionality controls is the new Polestar Digital Key, which is also included as standard, as is Over-the-Air updatability which allows Polestar to release software updates to owners remotely on a regular basis. The new Polestar app and Polestar Digital Key begin rolling out to all Polestar 2 owners OTA from mid-April 2021. On the PDF manual, fuses box section, there's no useful information regarding the volts, only amps. I was hoping to find a "12v always on" to use the parking feature with an add-a-circuit fuse adapter but there's no info. This used to be the default option without any cutting cables. You can change the angle of the door mirrors easily using buttons, whereas the rivals Model 3 requires you to delve into its centrally mounted touchscreen. And while the Model 3 displays crucial information, such as your speed, on its central touchscreen, Polestar has put a 12.3in digital driver's display right in front of you, behind the steering wheel. Elsewhere, regardless of grade, the Polestar 2 range has 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, LED headlights, keyless entry with no ignition (the car is just ready to go once you put it in drive), vegan textile upholstery with charcoal headlining, a synthetic leather trimmed steering wheel, premium audio system, a powered tailgate, and a rear-view camera.
