Description

Where Vagisan CAN be used before sexual intercourse to alleviate you symptoms, it can also compromise the tear strength of condoms and caps/diaphragms, as this is the case, you should avoid using the cream in conjunction with these contraceptive products. Vagisan also does not contain any spermicides and therefore does not protect against unwanted pregnancy. You can adapt the frequency of use to your personal needs. Usually, the cream is applied in the vagina once a day (in the evening); once symptoms have improved, the frequency of application can be reduced as needed. We recommend wearing a panty liner when using this product. You can apply Dr. Wolff’s V-san Moisturising Cream to the external genital area and the opening to the vagina several times per day as needed. The lactic acid content in Dr. Wolff’s V-san Moisturising Cream is far lower than in Dr. Wolff's V-san Lactic Acid. Dr Wolff's V-san Moisturising Cream products are therefore not suitable for acidifying the vagina to prevent recurrent infections. For further instruction on how to apply the cream using the applicator refer to your product leaflet which comes in the box. This will contain in depth instructions and a diagram, ensuring it is made clear to you the proper way to insert the cream. It is recommended that you read the product leaflet before use. Dr. Wolff’s V-san Moisturising Cream has a high water content and as a result, it provides the vagina and the skin in the external genital area with moisture. Additionally, the lipids (fats) soothe and soften the dry, sensitive skin and makes it supple.

Sensitivity to any of the ingredients in Vagisan can lead to inflammation of the soft folds of skin on the outside of the female genitalia. The irritation is caused by allergic reaction. The skin of the vulva is especially susceptible to irritation due to its moistness and warmth. I experienced a burning sensation after applying Dr. Wolff’s V-san Moisturising Cream to the external genital area and vaginal opening. Is this normal? Can I and should I continue to use the cream? Dr. Wolff’s Vagisan Moisturizing Cream is a hormone-free cream for vaginal dryness. It alleviates symptoms like burning, itching and pain caused by vaginal dryness. It also helps for pain during sex.

Ingredients

If the tube or applicator is damaged, or if there are any changes in the appearance of the cream, do not use the product and inform the manufacturers. If such symptoms persist and do not improve, you should stop using Dr Wolff’s Vagisan MoistCream and consult a doctor. If you notice any other unpleasant effects, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist. You can adapt the frequency of use to your personal needs. Usually, the cream is applied in the vagina once a day (in the evening); once symptoms have improved, the frequency of application can be reduced as needed. We recommend wearing a panty liner when using this product.

Do not use Vagisan Moist Cream if you have a vaginal infection (e.g Thrush); in this event you should see your doctor. You are still able to use Vagisan during pregnancy however, the applicator should not be used to apply cream internally. To insert the cream use a clean finger and around 2cm worth of product. The cream must not be used immediately after childbirth. What is the LActic Acid content in Dr. Wolff's V-san Moisturising cream? Can I use this instead of Dr. Wolff’s V-san Lactic Acid to prevent infections? To use the cream internally without the applicator use a clean finger with a ribbon of product approximately 2cm in length. For those using the applicator, make sure to fill it approximately half way (or 2.5g of cream). To make application easier apply a small amount of cream around the area of the vaginal entrance. This should be applied daily, preferably in the evening before bed (and wearing a panty liner where possible). Once your symptoms have improved you can reduce how often you use the cream, but this is based on your own needs and usage may have to increase again.Dr. Wolff's V-san Protective Ointment was specially developed for use in the external genital area. The ointment is particularly soft, spreads easily and adheres well to the skin. Given the composition that includes skin-friendly natural oils and waxes, it forms a water-repellent protective film on the skin, yet lets the skin ‘breathe’. This can protect the skin from skin-irritating influences and prevent the external genital and anal area from becoming sore - without allowing a build-up of moisture. Dr. Wolff's V-san Protective Ointment does not contain mineral oils or silicones. Dr Wolff’s Vagisan MoistCream must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the ingredients. The cream must not be used immediately after childbirth. Similarly, do not use Dr Wolff’s Vagisan MoistCream if you have a vaginal infection (e.g. thrush); in this event, you should talk to your doctor.

It is normal to feel a slight burning momentarily after applying Dr. Wolff’s V-san Moisturising Cream. However, should the burning be very strong, uncomfortable and last longer than 5 to 10 minutes (possible in individual cases), we advise you to discontinue use. In such a case, rinse the external genital area with lukewarm water.

Other dosage forms

Always consult your GP in case of severe symptoms or pain in the vaginal and external genital area, or in case of bleeding. Hormonal treatment may be necessary in the form of vaginal cream or pessaries. Discuss this option with your doctor. You can use Dr. Wolff’s V-san Moisturising Cream while trying to conceive, both in the external genital area and inside the vagina. Sperm motility is not affected. Vagisan Moist Cream is for use both internally and externally, with or without the applicator. To apply on the external genital area you should use a clean finger to spread the cream – about 0.5cm of product should suffice. Use this application method for the vaginal opening and external genital area up to several times a day as needed. Unlike other products for vaginal dryness, Dr. Wolff’s Vagisan Moisturizing Cream is a real cream and not a gel (aqueous preparations). Its dual effect provides moisture AND soothing lipids (fats) to the skin in the vaginal and external genital area. Uncommon: mild local irritation (itching, stinging) may temporarily occur, as well as a slight discharge in some cases. Very rare: hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. redness, stinging) may occur.
