Last and certainly not least is WayOutWare’s Odyssey. WayOutWare Odyssey is a spot-on reproduction of the classic analogue synth. Thanks to state-of-the-art circuit modelling of the OG’s fat oscillators and filter, all the character, warmth and nuance of the original has been faithfully captured. In addition to the original’s mono & duophonic modes, WayOutWare Odyssey can be played with up to 4 voice polyphony. Perfect for when you want to play chords and pads. Akai ’s MPC Live II is a refined and improved version of the original Live, which raised the bar for truly portable production workstations. Retaining its predecessor’s stylish looks and robust build-quality, the Live II expands upon it with an even smoother workflow, additional controls on the front panel, lighter form factor, CV connections and a punchy built-in stereo speaker - the Akai Live II is a more than worthy successor to its first iteration.

Registered office: V12 Retail Finance Limited, Yorke House, Arleston Way, Solihull, B90 4LH. Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The brand new randomisation section can add subtle to extreme variation to your Drum and Keygroup programs. You can use it to randomise pan, pitch, filter, envelope and sample offset parameters. It’s particularly handy for humanising drum patterns. Drum Pad Effects Absolutely! Make sure your iLok is connected to the computer while authorizing the software and you will be able to choose it as a location to store the license during the authorization process. Yes, but not many. You may notice some differences depending on your work style, though the main difference will be with VST support. MPC 2.0 supports VST plugins when used on your computer, however, these will be disabled when using the projects on the MPC X and MPC Live in standalone.Ableton Link 3 Support: Ableton & MPC are now able to sync start/stop from a single transport control

New Chord Progressions: MPC now contains five extra chord progressions that can be used in Pad Perform > Progressions mode. On top of all this functionality, the MPC Live II features native support for Splice and tight integration with Ableton Live - it comes pre-mapped to Live and can also control the DAW wirelessly via Wi-Fi - in addition to expandable memory options (SD Card, USB thumb drive and a 2.5 inch SATA bay) that give you the ability upload your own sample libraries. MPC One forwards the external SD Card port to your desktop computer when it’s hooked up and in controller mode.

You can connect your standalone MPC with your USB audio interface by navigating through the preferences menu and finding your sound card. You can also up to 32 inputs/outputs (but beware of the CPU usage!) New plugin Instruments Your MPC can now automatically calculate the key of a sample. Add any audio file with melodic content and let it do the work!

I previously used a Virus TI, OP1, OP-Z and iPad... it was a lot of weight to carry around and long setting up time! Absolutely! The MPC Live will be fully compatible with projects, programs and sequences from previous MPC versions and legacy hardware MPC's such as the MPC5000, MPC4000, MPC3000, MPC2500/2500XL, MPC1000, and MPC500. The MPC Live will support the following file types .AKP, . ALL, .IPT, .PGM, .PRJ, . SND, .MID, .SEQ, . APS, .50k, and .50s. The most notable addition to the MPC Live unit, though, is the speakers. They’re hard to miss, and have proven somewhat controversial among MPC users on forums and social media. The speakers were certainly a bold step. Aside from the Korg Volcas and the Novation Circuit, there are few other hardware synths with built-in speakers. Their inclusion on a professionally built MPC unit is certainly novel – and we couldn’t wait to try them. On top of that, you also have four capacitive-touch knobs so you've got great, tactile control over all your critical functions. The MPC has a well-earned reputation for sounds that hit hard and sound great, right out of the box. MPC Live is no exception. Pre-installed with 10 gigs of world-class sounds, The Vault 2.0 features samples and kits from top-notch sound design companies including Capsun Audio, MVP Loops, CR2 Records, as well as our own radio-ready kits. Want to incorporate your own samples without tethering to a computer? MPC Live features a 2.5” SATA drive connector providing more storage via external hard drive – SSD or HDD. Additionally, sounds can be accessed and added to the library using the built-in SD Card slot or the USB thumb drive. My workflow is to create songs ideas and structure on the MPC then transfer the project to the MPC software and Audio/Midi in Ableton.
