hours per individual file - is also quite remarkable for a simple pedal, and all the more so considering it can be powered by a single battery.

There are three metallic footswitches on the lower half of the body, angled towards you as you play. Compared to the RC-5, the RC-500 comes with one special feature, which we like a lot: The foot switches can be assigned in the settings of the device according to your needs. Also, if Tempo Sync is disabled, the recorded loop plays at random intervals, when the unit feels like it. Loaded with inspiring rhythms and evocative loop processing, the RC-500 is primed to bring groove and color to all your looping adventures. This is a crosspost from r/guitarpedals, someone there made me aware of this subreddit and it looks cool - hi everybody!Route left/right input sources to separate tracks, or send guitar and vocals to independent outputs. Authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority. Filled with next-generation Loop Station features, the RC-500 gives serious creators the tools they need to develop new ideas and deliver impactful performances that will leave audiences wanting more. Concerning the outputs, the RC-500, just like the RC-5, only has two large jacks as a stereo/mono output. If I was to mark it down, I’d say some of the more advanced functionality takes a bit of getting used to.

On top, there are MIDI connections - two small jacks, one as an input and one as an output - offering a much greater variety of control. The RC-500’s storage capacity and MIDI compatibility will meet the demands of most professional musicians, whether live or in studio settings. The Mono/stereo inputs allow for easy pedalboard integration, plus the independent XLR mic input with phantom power means we can also integrate other types of instrumentation sources into our loops (percussion/vocal etc). as the file with the drum loop will just set the tempo :) I kinda going a little in depth here but it's all little hurdles I came across.I have followed all the discussions (which are themselves fraught with misinformation since the manuals leave so much unanswered). Boss have an excellent reputation when it comes to loop pedals, and with the new RC-500 loop station, they've really excelled themselves. TC Electronic was one of the first companies to raise the bar for sound quality with their Ditto Looper. Optimised for live performance, 'Loop FX' like repeat, scatter, and more infuse your loops with instant sonic energy.

The handling of the RC-500 benefits from the new Boss display making it obvious within a second which mode the device is currently in with the help of the coloured backlight. To connect the device to a PC or Mac, it has a USB micro-B port (even though we wondered: why not use a USB-C port in 2020). While the newer switches are undoubtedly more robust and reliable, they’re also not great for those of us who prefer to play in our socks. In addition, we have a library of Owner’s Manuals and Support Documents that you can download and reference. And, in possibly the biggest first-world problem ever to grace this site, I would highlight how much easier the older pedals were to use without wearing shoes. And here is where the trouble starts: If I don't want my loops to drift from my synth music (I don't), I have to use MIDI sync. Nevertheless, we would have preferred the device to work with a rechargeable battery instead of regular AA batteries. I have a tiny bit of hope left that if I had an atomic MIDI clock with nanosecond precision, loop syncing could still work.

Merchant City Music Limited is a credit broker and is Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Connect mono/stereo instruments and pedal effects, plus a microphone to the dedicated XLR input - complete with phantom power for use with condenser microphones. Sitting above the RC-5 and RC-1 in terms of functionality and size, but not quite as fully featured as the spaceship-like RC-600, the Boss RC-500 offers a decent balance between excited immediacy and progressive functionality. Credit is provided by a panel of lenders with whom we have a commercial relationship (so we cannot provide independent advice).Great looper, not instantly user user friendly, more complicated than the single pedal, just takes time to learn how to use it,.
