In this follow-up to 2016’s The Way I Used To Be, a high school senior comes to understand that surviving rape is only the first part; what comes next is hard, too. Eden and Josh never had a fair shot at a healthy relationship. When they dated in high school, they each had their own problems getting in the way of the deep connection they felt toward one another. Unbeknownst to Josh, Eden was carrying the burden of a devastating sexual assault, while Eden had no idea Josh was dealing with his own private struggle of having an alcoholic father.

What qualities make Parker a good friend for Eden and Josh? What about Dominic? How do they support the couple, and what do they get from the friendship? The highly anticipated sequel to the internationally bestselling TikTok sensation The Way I Used To Be Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. It feels like an authentic portrayal of deep care for a human, to accept them and their pain, and not give up on them, but to continue to show up for them. Josh’s parents are a beautiful example of working through their tough times together and Josh is doing the same with Eden. They have a commitment to one another that, as Dominic questions may not be worth it considering all the effort and trauma. One taste. Stinging mint mouthwash with notes of lingering vomit underneath, making me gag all over again. I swallow hard.Jesus says to him, “I AM the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, if not through Me; Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Honestly, I liked this book at first. As previously mentioned, I loved the moments between the two main characters, and the dual POV helped tremendously, but it got to the point where it got repetitive. There was nothing new to look forward to, nothing to root her in Eden’s character. The second single from Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP, also featured on his 2005 album Curtain Call: The Hits

One of the first differences between The Way I Used to Be and The Way I am Now is that we get Josh’s perspective. While in The Way I Used to Be, I got a glimpse of the guy Josh was to Eden, I didn’t quite know him. They were always so relaxed with each other that they could forget their troubles and carve out a small place in the world where they don’t feel unwanted or unworthy.I knew he had been struggling with an alcoholic dad but it was very high level. In this book, I got to read his side of the story. What Eden had meant to him, what had been eating him up inside. Count five things you can see. I open my eyes. Toothbrushes in the ceramic holder. One. Okay, it’s okay. Two: my phone, there on the counter, lighting up with a series of texts. Three: a glass of water, blistered with condensation. Four: the amber prescription bottle full of pills I’m trying so hard not to need. I look down at my hands, still not right. That’s five.the third act break up 🤡 and how the author portrayed josh as the villain in this conflict. The way he was feeling guilty for literally doing nothing? No that shit pissed me off. The man perfect. He helped and protected her. He never judged her. Never said a bad word or anything to her. He was so considerate and kind and patient with her. So for the author to do him dirty like that just to make us feel more sympathy with eden🌝 Nuh it made me dislike her even more. When Eden sees Josh at the concert, she says, “There’s nothing I needed more tonight than this, with Josh. And God, how I am not used to getting what I need.” (p. 24) Why do you think this is? Who is not giving Eden what she needs? Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

the time jump had me so confused. Everything was so out of place. They just met and the next thing i know is them on their first date saying i love yous to one another 🌝honestly what made reading this more bearable was reading it with elena 🫶🏻 it was good to share our thoughts together and to agree on them too. So thank u beautiful for making this experience better 💗 manifesting better books for us 🙏🏻 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.

Josh’s perspective in their relationship is one that I haven’t found in many books. He is the one supporting the main character having experienced so much trauma. He reminds me of the dad in The Unbreakable Heart of Oliva Denaro ( review).Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me. That’s fine, though, because I know I’m not. Despite so much time passing, I didn’t expect her “healing” to be spent so lonely, pining over a guy, and not focusing on herself. We skipped four months, and we’re only told a few things that happened in between this time, but we never see anything.
