Description

Do not use a pressure washer on the paving for at least 4 weeks after EASY Joint’s application. Always use a fan type nozzle at a 45 degree angle and no closer than 15 cms / 6 inches to avoid removing the jointing material from between your slabs. Is EASYJoint suitable for patios and driveways? For a project to be free draining, both the bedding and sub-base must be permeable. To achieve this, assuming a permeable sub-base, where a mortar bedding is used it should be no stronger than 6 parts sand to 1 part cement (6:1). This will ensure good drainage and is perfectly adequate for pedestrian areas. If water is retained in the joint for long periods, rather than passing through, the joint may fail. Weather Conditions The recommended minimum depth of the paving joint is 20mm. It needs to be this deep to ensure the jointing compound has the correct strength to be a long-lasting paving joint. Ideal for use with natural stone, limestone, porcelain, Yorkstone, Indian Stone, granite setts and concrete paving slabs

Then rinse in with a fine spray so better compaction is obtained. Repeat to fully fill sagged joints as necessary. Only use JOINTEX Easy Joint on a draining surface such as a pebble bed, stabilised sand or grit. Do not use on a concrete surface with an insufficient gradient (at least 2 %). When the joint has been completely filled, after waiting for a short while for the product to harden, rinse the surface again to remove the last residues. If still necessary, any other residues may be swept away with a soft broom diagonally to the joint. 4. Allow to cure Bedding Mortars We supply a range of fast set, cement & resin based bedding mortars which are ideal for installing manhole covers, utility access covers, frames, highways ironwork and the bonding of granite, sandstone & porphyry setts, paving slabs, flags and bedding kerbs. Our range of high strength, bedding mortars mean roads, footpaths & highways can be reopened to traffic in as little as 40 minutes, meaning less disruption for the general public. Sealing is particularly recommended for porous paving slabs and setts prior to laying and jointing with EASYJoint, to reduce the risk of staining or efflorescence. If sealer is applied after the patio has been laid, do not apply any type of sealer over the joint for at least a month after it has set hard. Only use a breathable sealer, otherwise EASY Joint may or may not remain permeable, and you may seal in any natural efflorescence passing through the stone. These natural salts will disperse over time. Can you apply EASYJoint in freezing conditions? To further aid this, "point" or "strike" the joint; do not leave it textured. This ensures the top of the filler is below the top rounded edge of the paving and helps it adhere to the base and sides of the paving material. Whilst following the instructions carefully, if you do happen to make an error with EASYJoint, don’t worry, the only stain or picture framing that the jointing compound may potentially leave is linseed oil which will disappear and fade over time. By using lots of water when brushing the product in, it will ensure that any linseed oil will sit on top and simply get washed away! Detailed instructions on how to joint paving with our sweep in sand can be found inside the EASYJoint tub. To further aid this, “point” or “strike” the joint; do not leave it textured. This ensures the top of the filler is below the top rounded edge of the paving and helps it adhere to the base and sides of the paving material. The same rules apply when working with porcelain paving tiles as with working with stone or concrete. The base on which the porcelain is laid MUST BE PERMEABLE.

Freezing conditions are not always problematic for EASYJoint, however the volume of water used during the application process can potentially freeze. In this instance the particles within the grout mix won’t settle into the joints evenly due to the presence of ice and potentially lead to longer term problems. Clean out the old jointing product completely to create the correct joint size (see information under the ‘Joints’ section). Do not use EASYJoint if the correct and fully clean joint size cannot be obtained. EASYJoint is the original sweep-in jointing Compound and still the best truly "All Weather Paving Joint Compound" available and made in the UK. Do not be fooled by others making similar claims. This #1 product is sold across the world and is favoured by professional and DIY installers. Some concrete paving is made in moulds and has chamfered edges creating a 'V' shaped joint between two paving slabs, wider at the top than at the bottom. This gap shape can be the most challenging to work with and we recommend you carefully follow the instructions below.Top Up. Use more EASYJoint to top up any low areas, repeating the washing process as described previously. Years of research and continuous development of our jointing compound makes this a market leader. Hundreds of thousands of EASYJoint tubs sold globally.
