Running can be a mundane task. This is why we would rather watch TV than run. Well, why not do both? Place your treadmill in front of your TV or computer or in your home gym and you can watch your favourite videos while running. Most come with some storage space for you to put your iPod, smartphone or even water bottle for ease of access. This way, you can multitask while burning stubborn fat! Cheaper than therapy Though I would always suggest walking outdoors when you can, this isn’t always possible or practical. Dark, wet nights aren’t too inviting; for many, they are not safe, or at least don’t feel so. And, realistically, you can multitask very easily with a walking pad, putting in the steps as you stand at your desk, for instance. The Benefits Of Using A Walking Pad If you’re simply after burning a few more calories and raising your heartrate for an hour or two every day, whilst keeping things light and easy on your joints, and cannot ringfence the time to be out and about, or cannot leave your house or office, a walker like this can work wonders. However, I would skip them. You really do get what you pay for with them. They tend to be flimsy and easily broken. They also don’t perform well at anything more than a walk. If your budget really is so low that you don’t want to invest in a cheap motorised treadmill (which is a situation many people find themselves in), then my advice would be to spend the money on a good pair of trainers and hit the streets or local park, powerwalking or jogging.

We’ve all heard of friends who experience injury from sports and excessive workouts outdoors. Thankfully, we have the option of treadmills. By controlling the speed and pace, it controls how much pressure we put on our legs as compared to running outdoors. A fixed flat surface on the conveyor belt allows you to pace your steps flat. Many runners also use the treadmill for training or warm-up exercises, and they can vouch for its safety. Most come with a Pause or Stop button if you need to take a break from exercising or in case of emergency. Multitasking It is also on par with the Dripex speed-wise, with a range of 0.8-6kph. As you can no doubt see by now, this is pretty standard for a walking pad (the clue is in the title, after all – you should be using it to walk, not jog!). However, if you want something that can bring you up to a heavier jog, HFC or Biggzia will be the place to look. We’ve got a bit of an odd fish here. Powered by a 2.0 HP motor, the OneTwoFit treadmill has a maximum speed of 8km per hour, which I think is a strange amount. 6km per hour is a decent walker. 10-12km per hour is a good treadmill for a jog. 8km is respectable, but doesn’t fit into either camp. You can jog, but it will cut you off before you can get any real speed up. You can use it as a walker, but then it has a load of superfluous extra speed. I like the idea of walking pads; I like walking in general. It’s one of the best forms of exercise going. Simply walking is an easy task for most people without underlying health concerns. Simply walking for 30 minutes a day brings a wealth of benefits, including improved mental wellbeing, improved energy levels, better posture, better musculature, lower blood pressure, better insulin sensitivity, cardiovascular health… the list is too exhaustive for us to go through here.

We’ve recently looked at a few of the best cheap treadmills and have shortlisted the top options here. Why Buy A Cheap Treadmill? In essence, a walking pad is a small, lightweight treadmill alternative that is incredibly portable. The original template came from a team of product experts, including sports science professors and electrical and mechanical engineers, in Chicago in 2016. I would always advise people to go motorised. If you invest, you will get more. Pricier, motorised models will generally last you a lot longer, especially if you find one with a good warranty and have it regularly maintained. Treadmills have been around for a long time now. However, though the basic outline and premise remains, various permutations have begun to take off. Since around the early noughties, we’ve been seeing more and more of one particular kind – the walking pad, originally engineered by a group of sports scientists in Chicago.

There are plenty of different types and styles of treadmill available on today’s market. They serve a variety of uses. As well as this, there are some decent digital tools to make your training that much easier and more rewarding. This includes log training via their own free Fitness App, Bluetooth and AUX function and pulse sensors, so that you can always find out how your heart is bearing up. Always start with brisk walking to warm up those muscles. After that, jogging on the treadmill 20 minutes per day is a great place to start. After you get those 20 minutes down, you can play around with the speed and inclination on your treadmill to improve your performance. You'll start looking better and most importantly, feel better in no time. Whether your goal is to lose weight, gain muscles, or improve your heart health, running on the treadmill is a great way to do it. How much is a treadmill in Singapore? There should be something for everybody in this list. Whether you’re a serious runner looking for a decent way to get a sweat on in your living room or you have joint or weight concerns that mean a comfortable, well-supported power walk is the most relevant to you, you are covered.

As with most other options, it is very easy to move around, with a lightweight design and transportation wheels built in. A solid option for a low-impact walk. The JTX MoveLight is very easy to use, with 0.5kph increments for speed and a handy remote controller to change the settings whilst on the move. Knowing your heart rate – even in rough terms, as these kinds of sensors are generally pretty inaccurate – is important, especially for weight loss. Ideally, to supercharge your weight loss, you will want to spend as much time in the 85%+ heart rate range, the so called ‘Orange Zone’. This will lead to afterburn – your body will use up extra calories at rest for hours after you finish training. It is compact and easy to move, as it should be, with a small footprint of 58cm x 15cm. It weighs 31.5kg, so a fair amount heavier than the HFC, though manageable enough. Transport wheels at the front of the frame make this a lot manageable still. However, the speed is very easy to adjust via remote control, and all the usual data you could want – like speed, calories expended, number of steps taken, time and distance travelled – are all readily available and easy to access. It’s also incredibly slim line – it’s easy to store and saves space in your home or office, and can be put away quite effortlessly as it comes with transport wheels.

You can monitor the usual metrics using the HFC’s smart little LCD – things like running time, distance travelled, calories burned, and so on. INSTALLATION-FREE & SPACE SAVER DESIGN】: Treadmill arrives with fully assembled already, and can be used directly after unboxing. There is transport wheels so that it is easy to be moved and placed under sofa, corner or bed to save your home space.I personally don’t like this kind of activity. I prefer the mindfulness of walking outdoors, preferably amongst nature, and the sharp bursts of energy you can bring to bear in the gym. However, this simply isn’t practical for many people.

Our focus will be on the lower priced Onetwofit OT158 2HP treadmill as this one tends to offer consumers great savings but we will also include 2 other treadmills from Onetwofit fitness so at least you have more than just 1 option when browsing through their range and portfolio of treadmill models. Dimensions They represent the future of treadmill running in terms of connectivity, being able to transmit and receive cadence and speed data with any number of devices. You can be guaranteed a powerful motor turning the belt and a top speed of at least 20kph. If you have a smart treadmill that also measures cadence, you will have no need to use a foot pod at all. Therefore, less kit to fiddle with before you run and fewer things to go wrong. Is exercising 20 minutes on the treadmill a day enough? Your muscles will not be able to work to their full potential unless you have a strong cardiovascular system. Your endurance will improve if you have a strong heart. The steep incline causes your heart rate to rise even higher than on a flat surface, allowing you to push yourself and improve your health. What does a smart treadmill do? That is me running steady state at 10kph. This isn’t even particularly slow – plenty of people would take longer to complete a 10km run!It comes with gadgets too – as mentioned, the display is good. This is thanks to quite a nice LCD screen. You get Bluetooth integrated speakers, so you can stream media as you walk. The walking machine is pre-lubricated before leaving the factory. Each time the cumulative mileage of the walking machine reaches 100km, the display screen displays a refuelling display in red, allowing you to better care for it and get the most use from it, with a degree of longevity. WalkingPad is in itself a brand. However, just as we have Ketchup and Biros plenty of derivatives, so too has the market grown around the original WalkingPad. We can count the idea of the ‘walking pad’ as a solidly improper noun at this point. Power level from the motor is on the lower side for us and we would be concerned about it reliability and longevity in the months and years ahead You can adjust the speed with a good quality remote control, and the LCD screen offers all the data you could ever want. The whole frame is also foldable, which is wonderful in any piece of home gym equipment. As with many other items on this list, you don’t need to keep it freestanding in a corner, collecting dust all day long. It stands at 122cm x 71cm x 128cm, down to 127cm x 71cm x 56cm when folded, and has two wheels attached for ease of use and manoeuvrability.
