the plot was so boring. the characters had 0 personality. and the spice didn’t even feel that natural to me? 😭 i’m not gonna lie, i forgot everything as soon as i put this down. I really enjoyed reading this. I’m a bit sad it’s over and I’ve read all her other books she’s got out. Now I have to wait for a new release. What the hell am I gonna read in the meantime? 😒 While I appreciated the bond between the men and how they show their love and support for one and other, it was really hard to see their bond with her with how bratty and over the top she is. I can’t stand that in a FMC in general and even though I loved how she bonded with Glen, that’s just about it. Parts of the story, mostly with how she got close to Matt and Kenta honestly just felt disjointed. The story itself erked me as parts were extremely over the top (like her premiere scene, I nearly stopped reading the book) where others parts were underperformed making me bored and oh so irritated 🥴 Again, this Lily Gold book didn’t work for me… I think that she’s at her best when she does lighter, funnier books - like Faking With Benefits or Nanny for the Neighbors. But maybe it’s just that’s what I prefer from her so… maybe give this one a shot if you want to try a contemporary reverse harem.

I will say one thing I LOVE about Lily Gold is how she continues the story for a few chapters after the plot. Nothing worse then having just read the plot for it to literally finish right after or a chapter later… plus the epilogues are always great 👏🏼 Once you start reading this book you won’t be able to put it down until the end! So make sure you have plenty of time to devote to this story so you won’t end up reading until the wee hours of the morning and having a book hangover like I did!I am into reading kink and love a bit of powerplay, but I am even more into balanced and consensual relationships when powerplay is entered into after mutual respect has been established. The fact that Briar did not take any shit from the MMCs and demanded respect from them just made me so happy.

The overall romance was amazing though, I loved Briar so much for being sassy and unapologetically honest, a little mean, just handling her fame in general. What’s the saying… the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else. How about three someones. Two childhood friends. Two broken hearts. One impromptu road trip to get away from everything. That’s all this was supposed to be. Afterall, I’ve been living in the friend zone for years now.
