Command Points have been revamped. Instead of purchasing points, you now generate a certain number with each round of play. You might remember that we recently described Thunderstrike armour as slender and ergonomic. The bulky plate of the Annihilators is the exception that proves the rule, and their stellar Save is thanks to the heavy layers and those massive shields.

Some people seem to dislike the Kruleboyz. I’m not sure why. They look incredible. The models are some of the most detailed we’ve ever had and they are something new. Will the boxset be taken as a snazzy gift for both factions, as Indomitus was? Will greenskins fans warm to the Mork-aligned, sneaky, swampy Kruleboyz? Will Yndrasta get a nerf? Will the Pot-Grot get the buff it deserves? Building these chaps was easy enough. The sprue gates are put on sensible areas throughout. There is come clean up to be made on the odd curved surface. But it was nice to have all the gaps covered by sensible armour joins. As there are two sprues I’ve laid out each model above with its respective twin. thanks to some of the different arm choices along with the head, there are only 2 models above which look pretty much identical. Fast forward just shy of one year, and we’re on the brink of GW’s flagship fantasy game, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, following suit – releasing its own luxurious, arm-achingly heavy new-edition ‘launch box’, this time bearing the spookily similar title Dominion. Its similarities with Indomitus don’t end there, either. The new AOS box also pits some sexed-up variants of the game’s poster boy faction ( Stormcast Eternals) against a brand new model range for one of its more left-behind groups (the Kruleboyz Orruks). Their armour is slender and ergonomic compared to the more classic style, as befits longer deployments and campaigns without returning to Azyr. Without the Thunderstrike armour, Stormcast Eternals would be losing a battle of attrition as their numbers slowly dwindle.

Say hello to Heroic Actions. This is a new feature designed to make heroes more heroic. Heroic Actions allow a single hero on each competing side to perform one of four actions at the start of the Hero Phase. These are: Their Finest Hour, Heroic Willpower, Heroic Recovery, and Heroic Leadership. Each provides a serious bon to your force.

When the new starter sets come out, expect to see this sprue in the entry-level box. Warhammer Age of Sigmar Dominion – Sprue D – Orruk Killaboss & Stab-grot I say two or three sets of twins because the guide says that models’ E & F can be built as standard warriors or Vindictor Primes. You really should only have one prime in your unit, but the guide doesn’t explain this. Wanting variation (not really paying attention), I built two of them as Primes. I guarantee I’m not the only one who has done this by accident. Designed to work hand in hand with the new edition, this update brings together a host of changes and updates for your pitched battle games, including updated warscrolls for endless spells, new battleplans, and all the core rules of the game. Dominion is an incredible box, with some amazing miniatures. We're going to be starting a Stormcast Eternal Thunderstrike force for a Path to Glory campaign using the new miniatures.
