It’s bright and punchy and colorful though, which is awesome for a budget device that normally compromises at this level. Not this one, though. If i was going to be playing games which rely on precision movement then, yeh., a mouse makes sense. But for mousing about the MATE desktop to interact with Linux apps it’s perfectly decent as it is. Connectivity In testing, the power of this CPU is undeniable, with especially crushing results for any benchmark that uses multiple threads. If this system has an inherent weakness, it is that the Iris Xe GPU isn’t balanced well with the raw performance of the i7-13700H. There isn’t any way to negate that flaw, as it’s baked into the current Intel mobile platform.

There’s no built-in webcam on this thing (which, honestly, is a plus) and the tinny, hollow sounding speaker on this thing (which is only mono in Ubuntu MATE for reasons) won’t wow anyone. The latest MacBook Air features vastly improved hardware specs, headlined by the M2 chip. The M2 has 50% more bandwidth than the M1, has 35% faster graphics performance, and 40% faster processing speeds. Needless to say, it blew us away during our testing. With dual memory modules installed, the K1 is easily fast enough to blood the nose of the Intel NUC 13 Pro and trounce any Core i5 or Celeron-powered machines. Access for memory or storage changes is remarkably easy and doesn’t even require the removal of screws.
