I would have liked them to spread wider because my ladder has extended width feet, however, the mats are easy enough to remove from the metal ring. The quality of product and service is perfect! On soft ground you can put the mat evenly under both feet to prevent the ladder from sinking (this will not work with a stabiliser bar as the mat is not wide enough but the stabiliser bar does this job for you).
