We are sorry to have to report the death on 30th October of Ivor Evans. His funeral is to take place 23rd November in Romsey, with service at Milford, near Southampton. Funeral details. Richard was a loyal and long-standing member of the OSA and lived in Crouch End. He regularly attended St Mary with St George’s Church and the OSA Carol Service. Richard also enjoyed his visits to President’s Day at Botany Bay CC. He was also a Freeman of the Company and went to the ‘Cakes & Ale’ service most years. Mary Andersonsadly died 24 thJuly, aged 97. Her late husband Allanwas, for many years, a very active secretary of the Association, with strong support from Mary – particularly in the Football Club House kitchen. It is with great sadness that we report the death of Peter Sargenton August 9th. Peter was a life long supporter of the OSA and was President in 1975. In 1740, at the age of 50, Richardson wrote the first of three novels on which his fame depends. This was Pamela; or, Virtue Rewarded . Richardson was encouraged in this venture by his friend and fellow Derbyshireman Charles Rivington, founder of the Rivington publishing house and forebear to a family who would go on to contribute no fewer than twelve Masters to The Stationers' Company. Rivington had discovered Richardson as a 13-year-old apprentice composing ardent love letters for fellow apprentices less gifted with words than himself.
