If you’re considering the ATH-M30x you should definitely consider the cheaper Audio-Technica ATH-M20x. I was able to wear them for at least an hour without any issues with discomfort while playing drums.

The ATH-M30x over-ear wired headphones feature advanced engineering and build quality, making them the perfect headphones for field recording, video editing, and other monitoring applications.Crafted for an elite listening performance, prepare to take your mixes to the next level with the two 40mm drivers. There’s no reason for you to be precious about using these headphones, giving you more room to focus on the project at hand. Unlike the Audio-Technica ATH-M40x, the ATH-M30x has visible wires, though it doesn't make an impact on functionality.

Today, their product rang offers a wide variety of microphones, headphones, and turntables as well as many other accessories. The company later gained huge popularity among musicians with the release of the AT4060 tube microphone. However, the metal frame used to reinforce the headband is thinner than the one utilized for the Audio-Technica ATH-M40x or Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. Each "tink" of the cow-bells was very clear and distinctive, and the low vocals could be heard clearly enunciating "Bass Cannon".I personally haven’t run into any of these issues yet, but based on my experience with other headphones I’d expect that to eventually happen to these with a lot of use. The combination of modern engineering and high quality materials, designed to deliver a comfortable listening experience. The modern headphone’s design features a convenient single-side cable exit for hassle-free listening.

Same with the hinges on the folding ear cups, which can break over time if you fold them up and transport them a lot. I used this headphones with electric guitar and bass combos at home, and the overdrive/distortion/fuzz sounds are very poor. Its expertise in innovation quickly spread to various new fields and led to the development of tone arms, microphones and headphones. While neither of the M-series headphones are perfectly “flat”, to my ears, the M30x sound the most balanced.

We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. However, the overall amount of isolation is only about 10dB in the mid-range and 0dB in the bass range. I'm aware that many may scoff at the fact I picked up the M30X, but it was a distinct enough upgrade for the premium I was paying over M20X, and the M40X was just too far out of reach.

Even though the highs are very clear, sibilance is not a problem (for those who do not know, it is the annoying hissiness of the “s” sounds). They are a little more lightweight and feel like they are lacking the build quality of more expensive Audio-Technica headphones.Designed primarily for studio tracking and mixing, they offer added features for increased portability, making them a great choice for field recording. The Audio-Technica ATH-M30X headphones are designed to be an affordable option for closed-back studio headphones. I have tried the ATH-M20x, the ATH-M25 (an old discontinued model), the ATH-M30x, the ATH-M40x, and the ATH-M50 (the older version without the letter “x”), and I liked the ATH-M30x the most. In terms of construction, the ATH-M40x looks more refined, with hidden wires connecting the ear cups and slightly thicker padding. However, they look more cheaply made than the higher-end Audio-Technica ATH-M40x and Audio-Technica ATH-M50x.
