So would I expect my drive, when formatted by my laptop and then reinstalled, to be formatted again in the Humax? (I realise that the formatting done is different when done in the PVR). I have had a look on a couple of forums and think that maybe I need to upgrade the firmware, but I don't have any cables.

Have 2 new Humax PVRs, both of which are having Mega problems! On one, the guide hasn't fully populated all day and on the other, all is filled other than BBC 1 & 2 Wales. After selecting reserved programmes using the GREEN button, press the RED button. Select Yes and press the OK button to delete the recorded programmes. Note: · If the protect option of the programme is set to Enable, you cannot delete the programme. Please refer to 7. 1. 4 Changing the Attribute. · You can delete multi programmes except for the protected programmes. · When Deleting Recordings please ensure that only the recording(s) that you wish to Delete are selected. Unselect any Recordings by pressing the GREEN button. MoneySavingExpert.com is part of the MoneySuperMarket Group, but is entirely editorially independent. Its stance of putting consumers first is protected and enshrined in the legally-binding MSE Editorial Code. Beauty Advent calendars are significantly pricier than chocolate ones, but they've become increasingly popular in the last few years as a way of bagging beauty products at a fraction of the normal cost. They often sell out early, but can also be heavily discounted later if they don't, so here's a round-up of some of the best I’ve seen. OK, my Humax is still hopping and skipping so I thought I'd try a full format. I'm thinking of this adapter, is it OK?

The main frustrations for me are the incredibly slow EPG. It takes ages to populate. I had a TVonics PVR previously and that cached the EPG while turned off which the 9150 doesn't. Therefore the EPG on the TVonics was there straight away. Even my TV manages to remember the EPG when I turn it off and has it instantly visible when I need it. In that case I would suspect your aerial installation. It is possible some aspect of it has become damaged or faulty in some way. One key aspect of any PVR is its operational noise. The good news is that this standard-def diva doesn't raise the roof. There's an onboard fan but it's whisper-quiet. Select a programme and press the GREEN button. To unselect the selected programmes, press the GREEN button again.

Other possible problems are damage to the cable which could be allowing rain water to get in and damage the copper conductors. To be honest we have tried leaving the box connected to mains power and this has resolved the problem for us. Even if put into standby overnight the schedules were all there in the morning. It's only a total disconnect from the mains that drops the schedule. I did open up the 9150 to see and couldn't find a battery. I suspect scheduling is all in non volatile ram as mentioned above, which makes fixing this pretty much a no go.OK, I obviously don't understand the theory behind this. If I do a full format using my laptop, then the Humax does it's own, won't that undo any good work the full format has done? Or will it just produce an overlay and the full formats work of ring-fencing bad areas is left in place? I wasn't aware that old humax's use ext3 - my 9200 certainly doesn't. But it doesn't matter - the box itself should offer the option to format the disk. Humax is very aware that, for several months, some customers have been experiencing a slowdown in operation and usability issues with our PVR models. Thanks for replying. I found a thread on DS about the 9300 which has the same problem but there was an interesting post which claimed that it was noted that the cooling fan was not operating and after replacing the fan it fixed the problem: Select a programme and press the YELLOW button to trim the recorded programme. You can trim the recorded programme using the following functions. Note: You can trim recorded TV (Video) channels only.

Software updates for the PVR-9150T are subject to testing by the Digital Television Group (DTG), which is taklng place on June 11. Humax will give details of the release date for the PVR-9150T fix in due course. Resolving these issues has been a priority for our technical team who have been working diligently on a fix, but unfortunately, due to the complex nature of the issues, it has taken much longer than we had hoped to develop new software to sort out the PVR issues. If you are interested the post here lists the data I got comparing my Humax 9200 with a Vestel PVR. From initial setup, updating to the latest software or frequently asked questions, follow these links to help you get sorted with your product:I'm suspecting an internal battery may have gone as this seems to fit the behaviour, but I'm surprised upcoming programs would be stored in memory and not on the drive? Have a problem with your product and don't know what's wrong? Fear not, we're here to help. Get in touch by: Go into the settings and make sure the unit is set to auto update so you don't miss the next over the air software patch.

I've just seen a related thread where this was said (by someone who bought a new hard drive and installed it, as is, in the pvr): The other irritation is the layout of the remote. It has a sliding flap covering several minor controls. Amongst which is the one to call up the recorded programme list. Of course you are rarely going to need that and would much prefer the five button press method involved using the fully visible controls! The upgrades will automatically take place on all PVR-9200T and PVR9300T models on the following dates, as long as they are in standby mode overnight: Does anyone have any similar experiences or thoughts on this before I start taking it apart looking for batteries? Of course, selecting programmes from the guide depends on the Freeview guide being correct, which it generally is. You can widen the recording window to allow for minor scheduling errors, as well as trim recordings down to cut out unnecessary extras you didn’t want. Actually there are several members of the fair sex on here who are clued up on PVR technology and like ourselves have seen a good part of the 20th century.
