It made it feel never ending and from one problem to the next there wasn't enough time always to really see the effects.

The fact that Phoenix, our main character is battling mental illness, a suicide attempt and learned how to live and be vulnerable is relatable and gives hope. And in true Kristen writing, she gave us characters dealing with real life struggles and mental health issues that everyone can relate to. Their relationship flowed so beautifully and naturally and I loved every single second of their banter and every single moment that got them closer together. I loved that it was that same strength that gave her the drive to fight for everyone around her, especially for James. As someone who also suffers from anxiety this story hit home in a few ways for me, and it was just really nice to read it, and not feel alone. He was so raw and honest and full of emotion, and I really really hope we get a book about him later on!

They found in each other the sweetest, most wholesome love but also a family they both needed so hard. I had to stop and sigh several times with the things he said and did, not only for Phoenix but for others. and then lastly, the line “ Stop making ourselves the victims in our own lives, and start being the warriors we are.just as things are going well, her past and the present will present huge obstacles in their HEA, one she believes everyone deserves.
