Description

Her work confronts oppressive attitudes towards women and their bodies and she uses her platform to raise awareness of issues surrounding sexuality, consent and gender.

If Florence wasn’t Florence, this manuscript wouldn’t even have made it past the assistant’s desk at the publishing firm let alone onto bookshelves globally.it’s like florence given looked up struggles of bisexual women and instead of portraying them with any kind of complexity she turned them into a caricature that had me (a bisexual woman who understands the source of the problems she was trying to portray here) rolling my eyes.

I remember when this book came out in hardback, but at the time, I didn’t pay any attention to what this was about. It’s not one that I’m sure I’d reread, but if it’s one you’ve been curious about, I would suggest checking it out and seeing what you think. A sponsored date turns into an expose and Eartha becomes more and more withdrawn and depressed, neglecting her other relationships. Boasting over 193k followers on Instagram, her work confronts oppressive attitudes towards women and their bodies, and she uses her platform to raise awareness of issues surrounding sexuality, consent, race and gender.

But Matt seems to have been deeply abusive in more ways than one, and it’s a strange, unfair oversight to portray him merely as the fuckboy Eartha dumped. Given attempts to flag that she is definitively not transphobic a few times; Eartha’s best friend Rose is a non-binary lesbian, the phrase cis white man is of course thrown around with disgust a lot, and there are a few nods to the inclusion of trans women in sapphic nightclubs. what is even more unfortunate is that people actually don't think this reads like a wattpad fanfiction with too many jarring in-text author's notes interrupting the actual narrative, except these 'author's notes' take the form of eartha's inner monologue, considering she is a very obvious self-insert of florence given herself.

To introduce GIRLCRUSH in London, we worked with Hachette on an impactful sample stunt and street poster campaign. Die Figuren sind spannend, das Setting ist interessant und ich fand es spannend, Earthas Weg zur Online-Persönlichkeit nachzuverfolgen.
