Everyone no matter what age you are needs to read this because it's true and we don't always feel like we have our shot together. Having thoroughly enjoyed the first installment, I was eager to dive into Nell's world once again, and I can confidently say that this sequel did not disappoint. Yes, there were sad bits and that made me teary, but the pure hope running through the book is so moving too.

Life, like us, is a sum of moving parts, and if we're lucky, we get to keep f**king up and figuring it out and laughing in the face of it all. I’ve done it myself: posted the photo of four smiling faces with a ‘what a lovely day with besties – and so lucky with the weather. More Confessions of a Forty-Something Fk Up" is a must-read that reminds us that amidst life's curveballs, there's always room for growth, laughter, and a touch of glamour.Having spent a large amount of her time alone in her flat, she's looking forward to being able to get out and about again with her boyfriend, Edward, and her friends. Whilst sharing the flat with not only Edward and their dog, but also his two teenage sons, a surprise pregnancy test throws Nell's world into a spin. As heartfelt and hilarious as the bestselling first novel, Nell discovers that there's no such thing as having it all figured out. These titles have sold in twenty-five territories and achieved worldwide sales of more than one million copies, making the bestseller charts across the world.

Once again Alexandra Potter had me howling with laughter until I had to stop because I couldn’t see through my tears. It talks about the negatives of being a woman in society, making it so familiar and relatable, but shows that you don't have to be perfect to be perfect. Nell continues to navigate her forties, feeling like a failure, mourning the life she left behind and trying to move forwards but something is holding her back and in this novel she has to face that. You’ll laugh, cry and possibly rage a few times whilst reading this, but what’s reading for if not to make you feel something? Nell, fairly quickly, finds herself engaged to her long-term chap, Edward, which brings with it a whole new raft of problems.

The pre-loved books are carefully cleaned and maintained offering a wide variety of general and specialist titles from children's to adults. They don't stand out, she's not taking us for fools and repeating the first book, but she's cleverly worked the important bits into the earlier chapters which really helped get into the flow.

I don't know if there will be anymore in this series, but if she does decide to continue it, I can guarantee that this bookworm will be reading it. It seems like the first book’s success was the only reason for this extension, which was again easy fun read bus stories were kind of forced and didn’t really come together as interesting as you’d wish. And when all else fails, will celebrity-scented candles, smashed avocados and Instagram filters save us? As Nell navigates the complexities of love, friendship, and self-discovery, I found myself nodding in agreement, pausing to reflect on my own life and decisions. I like that this is a realistic and relatable book with characters that are experiencing the same problems as all the rest of us.
