Kominsky died in London on March 11, 2011, at the age of 95, predeceased by her husband on January 29, 2011, at the age of 90. Nancy Circelli Kominsky (born Emanuella Agneta Circelli, 24 September 1915 – 11 March 2011 [1]) was an Italian-American artist and television presenter, who found fame in Britain with her paint-along series in the 1970s. Kominsky's series Paint Along with Nancy comprised 52 half-hour programmes made by HTV West from 1974 to 1978, and transmitted on ITV network in the United Kingdom.

The programme purported to teach the viewer to paint and the lessons consisted of Philadelphian artist, Nancy Kominsky painting a picture in twenty-five minutes. This series, their adventures will include visiting Chatsworth Estate to learn about the dippers, taking a trip to Battersea Power Station to spot an iconic pair of nesting peregrines and searching for puffins in their wild habitat of the Antrim Coast, plus much more.

Jim and Nancy are on the remote Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides on the look out for eagles. They also enjoy a catch up with Edwyn Collins. Jim and Nancy, along with a host of exciting celebrity guests (to be announced at a later date), local artists and conservation experts, will be embarking on their second tour of the UK and Ireland, visiting a range of scenic locations to explore the local birdlife in their natural habitats. Once again, they will be taking on the challenge of creating artwork inspired by the regions they visit, the unique species they observe and the friendly faces they meet along the way. In episode one the couple visit Northumberland and meet up with actor Mark Benton, star of Early Doors, Land Girls, the original series of Waterloo Road and Shakespeare & Hathaway. Her oil painting lessons were followed with enthusiasm by housewives, shift workers, and schoolchildren, many of whom would race home after school to switch on the television set to watch her demonstrate her unusual system of painting.

The second series of P ainting Birds with Jim and Nancy Moir was commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones, Director of Sky Arts and Entertainment for Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content for Sky UK and Ireland. The Commissioning Editor for Sky is Barbara Lee. The series went into production in May 2023. Nancy: “I learned how the golden eagle shows off to woo the female. They fly higher and higher, drop a stone and, as it falls, go around until it gets near the bottom and then scoop it up. It’s just amazing.”The series is produced by Drum Studios, part of Omnicom Media Group, headed by Andy Holland. Danny Carvalho and Sadia Butt are the executive producers. Jim and Nancy will also try their hand at an array of artistic techniques during their travels, such as creating linocuts of stilts and golden plovers in Wrexham, learning about the local community project The Hide Sculpture in Fingal, Dublin and using traditional Chinese ink and calligraphy brushes to paint Loch Mallochie in the Scottish Highlands.
