Sign up to our newsletter for style and decor inspiration, house makeovers, project advice and more. Whisking, beating and kneading attachments are key to this and we awarded extra points to machines that offer more integrated features, like weighing scales, timers and extra attachments. Some food processors solve the problem by including bowls of several sizes, and some home cooks keep both a full-size food processor for bigger jobs as well as a mini food processor for just mincing garlic and other small-quantity aromatics. Washing your stand mixer’s attachments by hand can also be a pain, so we looked for dishwasher-safe accessories to make cleaning less of a headache.

In just a few short pulses the sharp blades were equally effective at grinding beef as chopping onion evenly and creating fine breadcrumbs out of sliced bread. We cleaned it by hand after each test and like all food processors, the number of parts coupled with the sharp nature of most of the attachments means it’s tricky to clean and it’s safest tackled with the brush to avoid accidents. Its motor is 500W, which was less powerful than most tested but kneaded away without looking or sounding strained. You can read my full reviews below, followed by some useful advice on how to choose the right one for you. It's a fiercely efficient machine with a 1200-watt motor that can work through ingredients (whether chopped, mixed, grated, sliced, blended or puréed) in seconds.

One of the defining features of modern food processors is how much kit they can potentially come with. Mixing, whisking, whipping, emulsifying, kneading, mincing and even heating are possible with a good food processor. As well as aptitude in food prep, we also took into account how easy these food processors were to set up, use and clean, as well as aesthetics, noise levels, value for money and extra thought from the manufacturers. This food processor combines a powerful motor with sharp blades, so if you want to get your hummus super smooth or sweet potatoes shredded quickly, this is a great option. It's got sturdy shredding, slicing and chopping disks that are held in place by a frame for no wobbling as you slice, and the insert into the feeding chute can also be used to measure liquids.

The Easy Prep Pro isn’t perfect – its buttons are big and bulky, plus you have to hit the Off control rather than just the High or Low to stop it, which isn’t terribly intuitive. Rather than relying on a standard array, some of the Kitchen Wizz Pro’s eight tools are designed to suit a particular need – so there’s a julienne disc for matchsticks, but also a French fry cutting disc for chips. This guide is regularly updated with new models that have been tried, tested and top-rated by BBC Good Food’s reviews experts. Like with most food processors, the main blade chops, mixes, purees, and emulsifies, and an attachment disc is included with a slice side and shred/grate side. It's one of the most space-efficient food processors on the market, so if that's a priority for you then it's a good pick.

While these appliances look similar – motorised bases with a number of power settings, clear bodies, rotating blades – they do differ in purpose. The action of the machine is modified by switching between attachments – so you might set it up with a disc attachment to chop some ingredients, then switch to a blade to mix those ingredients into a sauce or paste. litre bowl, and is available in a wide range of colours including KitchenAid’s annual Colour of the Year (for more colourful kitchen gadgets, check out our round-up of the best pink kitchen accessories and appliances). If you’re cooking solo or for small households (and if you are, check out our guide to the best recipe boxes), or if you’re just using your food processor for chopping veg, then you won’t need much more than the Kenwood MultiPro Go.litre stainless steel mixing bowl with practical handle contribute to the sense that what you get is great value for money.
