As well as being super hot of course, Take a Hint, Dani Brown was also hilarious. Talia Hibbert has this impeccable talent of writing romance that goes from super steamy to laugh out loud in the same paragraph. As if that alone didn’t make me me love him, he listens to smutty audiobooks! Ah, a man after my own heart. At one point he encounters the situation we all worry about when listening to smut in public, when the audiobook starts to play LOUDLY, and not through the earphones. I was torn between major second hand embarrassment and absolute hysterics. “Zaf”, she half shrieked, “is that porn?” “No!” The word came out a bit too loud to seem honest. “No,” he repeated through gritted teeth, trying to sound like a calm, sensible man instead of a raging pervert.“ This is me attempting to start out this review in a Fun Way, in the hopes that so much as one moment of my experience with this book can be Fun, because reading it was...not.

Help! I’ve fallen [prey to my fairly high expectations and been brutally disappointed] and I can’t get up!Talia Hibbert really has me out here believing that these fictional men she creates exist. So I’m going to roll with this delusion. So yes, there was a lot to love about this book, but I did have some issues! Firstly, the plot kind of stalled in the middle of the book. There wasn't enough drama, and the pace slowed down due to many internal monologues. We knew from the start that Dani didn't do relationships, but I felt like I was being beaten over the head with it, as it was repeated over and over in both character's heads. I loved both of the families, Dani and her sisters, Chloe and Eve, plus Gigi, and Zaf with his mum, Kiran and Fluffy! They were all so supportive of each other! I just want to hang out with all of them! As for Dani, well, she’s fantastic! She’s motivated and determined, she’s blunt and she’s confident, but she also protects her heart at all costs. She values her success in her academic field, and it was so wonderful getting to read about someone who so obviously loved what they did, and was not ashamed to put their focus on their work rather than other places.

The friendships were amazing! Dani with Sorcha, and Zaf with Jamal. Zaf and Jamal reminded me of Red and Vik in the first book, and I loved how they provided emotional support for each other. Take a Hint, Dani Brown was absolutely wonderful with an amazing romance and delightful characters.I think my love for this book knows no bounds because every aspect of this book was exactly what I wanted and what I needed from a romance! As an overview, this book has great friendship, romance, mental health, discussions about emotions, discussions about grief and anxiety, minimal but realistic drama and more. She was amazing as a character but a little weak as a heroine. Her hero consistently gave gave gave but she rarely reciprocated even the smallest of things(like compliments or reassurance)even the ones that took little effort. Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits—someone who knows the scoreandknows their way around the bedroom. Reread and I can’t even tell you how happy this book, this series makes me. All thanks to Talia Hibbert and her wonderfully engaging characters that shine through her writing.

As an academician she is really workaholic and she doesn’t do relationships because she tells everyone it is a distraction to prevent her keep eye on the ball and work for her career oriented aims. But of course she keeps lying to herself because her first serious relationship broke her heart into smithereens and she thinks she’s emotionally cold and awkward so she doesn’t have anything to give anyone and she cannot change her emotionally disabled situation. So although this was a heart warming story, with many strengths, it wasn't the follow up that I was dreaming of. I think I built it up too much in my head after loving the first so completely! I still thought it was written brilliantly though, and will still anticipate and definitely read Eve's book! Let's move on to sex! Now I know these romance novels often discuss sex and use very flowery language around it well this book skips the metaphors. I have never read such intense sex scenes in my life I felt I should of let them know I was there. Graphic and indetail, this is not a book to let tour young daughters read. Its intense to say the least along with their thoughts surrounding what they are thinking that want to do with the other one. Steamy ha.

Talia Hibbert

This was just such a bummer to read. It was so, so repetitive, and it focused on so many things I didn’t care about, and I felt like the entire romance was telling not showing, and in the end I just didn’t...FEEL anything. Dani is a confident woman who knows what she wants out of life and intends to get it. I loved that Dani knew her own mind and wasn’t willing to settle for anything less than what she wanted. Dani does have a poor outlook on love as it’s never worked out for her in the past. After learning Dani’s history, her reaction to love made sense and I could see why she avoids it. Dani is a bit of a workaholic and her dedication to her work definitely led to her personal life suffering. Her family is fantastic and I love the relationship she has with her sisters. Dani, Chloe, and Eve are all so wonderfully supportive of each other and I love it. Then what's the murder glare for?" With complete seriousness, he told her, "This is just my face. I have a murder face." Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits—someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom. I loved the way this book challenged social gender construct, looked at how living with anxiety can affect your life, dismantling the misconceptions surrounding romance novels and explored vulnerability that was masked.
