It met my expectations perfectly and I'd recommend it for anyone living in the UK and looking for some ideas of where to start with planning weekends away. You can get a flavour of the art and music of Vienna in just a few days, although culture vultures should expect to make a return visit to do everything they missed first time round. July and August see Mozart’s birthplace come alive with music. The annual Salzburg Festival is one of the world’s great cultural occasions. The opera festival was founded in 1920 and now boasts an international repertoire of performers and directors. Over the years the main venue, an open-air theatre cut into cliffs, has expanded and is now named the House of Mozart.
