Although not quite as popular as Sun sign astrology, “Mercury Retrograde” has certainly become a buzzword–or buzz phrase–in recent years. The next couple of years will produce the end of many illusions and hard times for those who perpetrate them. Matters of unconfirmed belief are likely to be tested, and those who have relied on intuition alone to get by may have to take a more tangible and practical approach. Mercury turns retrograde more frequently than any other planet. It can never be more than 28 degrees from the Sun, and whenever it reaches its furthest distance from the Sun, it changes direction. From April 17th at 6:35 pm (EDT) to June 1st at 5:14 pm (EDT). This occurs while Venus is transiting Gemini until May 7th, and while Venus is in Cancer from May 7th forward. A planet is considered out of bounds when its declination is beyond the outer bounds or limits of that of the Sun, i.e. greater than 23 degrees and 27 minutes of declination, either North or South. Note that Mars is also retrograde from October 30th, 2022, to January 12th, 2023. The Moon is Void of Course from the time of its listed last aspect until the Moon enters a new sign. For example, the Moon is Void of Course from January 7, 2023, at 5:23 PM (ET) when it makes its last major aspect in the sign (an opposition to Pluto) until 9:40 PM, when the Moon changes signs to Leo.
