Description

I’ve been on a roll over the last few months as I’ve been purchasing and trying out every non alcoholic whiskey and bourbon I can get my hands on. The flavor is exceptional. This is even one of the most popular alcohol free whiskeys, as it tastes so close to the real thing. There are still differences, but that’s a given – alcohol free spirits will never taste exactly like the real thing. As listed, there are a couple that do this pretty well, some others that offer something a bit more unique, and the majority that are mediocre or just bad. It is very much a similar mindset to that of Gnista – just because drinks do not contain alcohol, doesn’t mean that they need to be aimed at children. This is a mindset that is becoming more and more prevalent in the world, with more and more adults deciding that they do not want to drink as much, or any, alcohol for a whole host of reasons, and drinks like Celtic Soul are here to fill the gaping void between soft drinks and hard liquor.

This bourbon could be an excellent starting place if you love the classics. That said, it is lighter than many traditional bourbons, which could lead to slightly lighter flavors. The Spirit of Bourbon by Free Spirits We loved sipping on Free Spirits au naturale. The only downside is that it’s a bit pricey for our liking, but if you have the extra moolah, this is worth the splurge. 5. Drummerboy American Dark To be honest with you, there are plenty of alcohol free whisky producers that play their cards quite close to their chest when it comes to making their products. I guess, with such a new product, they are all being a bit cautious and protecting their own methods. Which is completely understandable. Is There Such A Thing As Alcohol Free Whisky?Since non-alcoholic whiskey alternatives typically don’t spend that much time maturing, it can be impossible to mimic the smokiness that comes from a well-aged dram. Why Do People Drink Non-Alcoholic Spirits? Though it doesn’t replicate the heat or intensity of a traditional dark spirit, it makes a good alternative for those looking for something different. Gnista states they were inspired by Swedish nature when producing Barreled Oak. Utilizing artisan craft techniques, they designed this non alcoholic drink with dry smokey notes, botanicals, and underlying flavors of chocolate rye and warm spices. This Ritual whiskey alternative is probably the closest to actual whiskey in this lineup regarding taste and finish. It has all the depth and warmth you would expect from actual whiskey, with vanilla, stone fruit, and smoky oak flavors.

Most brands list every product with little to no sugar and zero calories.Of course, this is if you decide to only consume non-alcoholic whiskey on its own. How It Tastes

Don't Just Take it From Us

Some people opt to drink non-alcoholic spirits because they don’t want the hangover that comes with drinking alcohol. Turn the heat down to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes, until the liquid has reduced by about half. The Ritual line was launched, not in an effort to replace alcohol, but rather to provide people with alcohol free liquors that would still allow participation in the rituals that correspond with drinking. Since drinking alcohol is such an integrated part of social gatherings, many none drinkers can feel left out. Ritual Zero Proof’s aim was to allow everyone to participate in these special moments. We’ve been big fans of The Gospel since we first wrapped our gob around their original Gospel Rye, and being Australia’s only dedicated rye whiskey distillery, it was only a matter of time before they hopped into the fast-growing non-alcoholic category with the release of Australia’s first rye whiskey alternative – Responsible Rye.

Non-alcoholic whiskeys are first distilled like actual whiskey for optimal flavor. The juice is then boiled through a process called ethanol distillation, where the alcohol gets evaporated. Now things are different, though. Now, we don’t just have a non alcoholic whisky, we have so many that it is quite difficult knowing which one would be best for us. There are so many different options available, that we felt it necessary to compile the following list of the best alcohol free whisky, so that we can help you find your perfect drink for those nights. How Is Alcohol Free Whisky Made?A combination of a small amount of neutral spirit and botanicals (which give the spirit its floral, fruity or bittersweet flavour) are added to a still, which is then heated through multiple rounds of distillation. This process (which can take around six weeks to complete) helps to extract the flavour of the ingredients before the alcohol is removed from the liquid. Voila! How we test non-alcoholic spirits This nonalcoholic aperitif hits all the right notes with woodsy and aromatic rosemary, zippy bitter orange, and a dash of clove and rhubarb. We love the bittersweet nature of this aperitif from the U.K., which is great in all the typical ways an aperitif is great, but it really comes to life when combined with a splash of white grape juice or some nonalcoholic white wine.

I really like Escape’s Cinnamon Fire Whiskey. If it weren’t such a niche flavor, it would be the first on this list. What we like: We love this whiskey’s aroma of dried apricot and candied pecan. Also, the bottle design is absolutely stunning. It’s not the same type of heat that you would get from a traditional whiskey, however, it’s one of the best substitutes I’ve tried so far. Some brands advertise that their product contains no calories. Please be careful about what this means. In most cases, artificial sweeteners are part of the recipe that do not hold any calories but are usually not very healthy. Alternatives to Non-Alcoholic Bourbon Traditional bourbon whiskey has strict regulations when it comes to production. That includes ingredients, production methods, resting in barrels, and alcohol content. For non-alcoholic bourbon, there are no strict regulations, at least not yet. It has string oak, caramel and vanilla notes, which really gives it that authentic American feel. It brings to mind a bourbon – very well balanced and smooth. The thing that is most notable, though, is that this is not a non-alcoholic drink that tries too hard. There is no overcompensating here – they simply let the drink do the talking without reaching for something different or powerful, which many of their competitors end up doing. In today's article, we're talking about the first segment of non-alcoholic spirits companies - those creating the best, alcohol-free alternatives to your favorite spirits. In particular, we're discussing some of the best non-alcoholic "whiskeys" you'll find on the market today.
