After the cataclysmic events of last issue — Battlerealm will never be the same! But Earth’s ultimate superteam has discovered the Contest — and they don’t like it at all! Is this the end of Maestro’s dream of power? Or the start of a whole new Contest of Champions? Fan-fave writer Al Ewing combines two of his new series into one can’t-miss epic! Hachette Partworks, whose partwork titles include Doctor Who: The Complete History and Judge Dredd: The Mega Collection, continue their How To Draw The Marvel Way, along with their re-release of their hugely successful part work, Marvel’s Marvel Ultimate Graphic Novel series.

It's a post-modern conceit that allows Adams and Broxton to both produce a fun homage to their favorite vintage newspaper adventure strips, and wryly comment on the psychological damage producing comics has all-too-often wreaked upon the writers and artists of the form. Most of all, though, it's some great-looking comics: Broxton has provided us with some exclusive examples from the work in progress, and they're all gorgeous. The story starts at the fag-end of that decade, when the Baskervile Newspaper Group decided it needed to respond to the success of Peter O’Donnell and Jim Holdaway’s strip Modesty Blaise. To do this, it teamed up volatile Italian artist Antonio Barreti with English writer Louis Schaeffer – a multi-pseudonymous veteran of pulp and sci-fi magazines. Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, M.D., welcomes you to Evil Anonymous, the support group for super villains in need; where no problem is too insane or homicidal, and where discretion is assured as only a clown princess of crime can-which is to say, not at all. But when Harley Quinn starts using her patients’ own evil schemes against them, it turns out that a much bigger, far more dangerous, and truly life-altering joke is being played on her.

Sadly, the publication of this book is the closest that the Goldtiger saga comes to a happy ending: Louis Schaeffer is thought to have drowned off the coast of Corsica in 1976, and Antonio Barreti disappeared without trace after leaving his last spell of psychiatric care. The mysterious organization called FIST makes their next move, and Spider-Man 2099 gets a helping hand investigating what they’re up to.

Five New Avengers in the ultimate ultra-vehicle – fighting to save A.I.M.! But are they giving up their freedom – or their lives? JB: I have always loved newspaper strips, when I was younger, that is what I wanted to be: a newspaper strip artist, not a comic book artist. But despite being of a '60s vintage myself, I was born too late. By the time I could hold a crayon without getting it all over my bib, the heyday of the great adventure strip had gone. Some classics lingered, and even continue to this day, but in reality they were from a bygone era. A lost art. Lost art! That really is what Goldtiger is about, rediscovering something that didn't even exist, but should have, so now does, or does it? (Now that is truly lost.) Tiger Eye is a variety of Quartz and a pseudomorph (meaning false form) replacement of Crocidolite. It forms when Crocidolite has its chemical fibers replaced by silica. Its colors are generally a combination of golden browns, yellow, beige or tan. This mineral was first reported in 1892 by J.D. Dana and was clearly named after its similarities to a real tiger’s eye. The most abundant source of Tiger Eye is located beneath South Africa where most of the material on the market is sourced from. However, there are secondary deposits coming from India, Burma, Australia, China, and Brazil. Chatoyant Cat’s EyeWhen Cho is declared “Mastermind Excello” by an intelligence contest, his life suddenly spins out of control – and now he’ll need all his smarts just to stay alive! Following the collapse of "Goldtiger 2000", Baretti returned to psychiatric care; nothing further is known of his life. "Goldtiger" retained a considerable cult following in Malta, and later among comics historians. One such fan was Leonard King, who attempted to compile the strip for small publishing company Humdrumming Books in 2002; however, he found the original artwork had been lost and had to work from incomplete newspaper cuttings saved by a young Maltese fan, before the volume was abandoned. We recommend meditating with Tiger Eye each morning or night with your ideas and desires at the forefront of your mind. Say these thoughts out loud so the universe can take hold of these dreams and make them become a reality. When channeling Tiger Eye’s powers, we become imbued with conjuring energy. These vibrations know no bounds and place us in an environment where our ideas can become a reality. Try pairing this mineral with other creative stones like Orange Calcite, Bumblebee Jasper, Pyrite, Mahogany Obsidian, Orange Aventurine, and Citrine! There she finds an old vineyard converted from a haunted church where witches used to be burned at the stake.

Litters of different coloured cubs are not unusual because the white and golden tabby colours are caused by combinations of hidden recessive genes carried by the parents. White tigers, such as Dreamworld's Mohan (named after the white tiger captured in India in the 1950s), are highly inbred. Inbreeding reduces genetic variability and may cause hidden genes to manifest as there is a greater probability that two recessive genes will meet up. A chance encounter at the Malta Comic Con led artist Jimmy Broxton to the lost newspaper adventure strip Goldtiger – a classic document of 1960s comics. But that was only the start of the story…JB: Oh, I'd love to hear your speculative guesses, and that is one of my worst habits as an interviewee ... But to unravel the mystery of the hauntings, she must first fight off the ghosts of the SPANISH INQUISITION! Available for the first time in softcover! Join Alice on her whimsical journey down the rabbit hole. For the first time ever, Lewis Carroll’s beloved masterpiece is faithfully adapted and illustrated in its entirety, including the long-lost chapter, “The Wasp in a Wig!” From her initial meeting with the White Rabbit in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, to her final dinner party with the entire (and outrageous) Through the Looking Glass cast, every moment of Alice’s adventures in that astonishing landscape is captured in gorgeous detail. With old favourites like the Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter joined now by a long-forgotten Carroll creation, The Wasp, in one of the book’s latter chapters, children and adults alike can rediscover the complete Alice tale and fall in love with Wonderland all over again! The strip did however prove a surprise success in Malta, and the Clarion commissioned Barreti to continue the work after Baskerville withdrew. Even though Barreti had been committed, Schaeffer continued to send him scripts to work on. Despite the stories growing ever-more surreal "Goldtiger" ran in the Daily Clarion until 1975, only ending when sporadic communication with the artist suddenly ended. The following year Schaeffer, having failed to carve out the serious literary career he craved, reportedly died in a boating accident off the coast of Corsica.
