You can opt out of suggested content, which is great, and you can limit ad-tracking, but this just limits the type of ads you'll see, not the number of ads.

As a result, the overall SDR picture performance is generally impressive, with images that appear well defined and colours that look natural. The Hisense A65H has a great viewing angle, which is great if you have a wide seating arrangement or like to move around with the TV on. It boasts a Quantum Dot VA panel, with ALLM and VRR gaming features, Dolby Vision gaming up to 4K120Hz, and all four main formats of HDR along with Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The 50-inch model has much better black uniformity thanks to its VA-type panel and higher native contrast. The four sections of the screen near the corners are noticeably darker than the center, which is distracting when watching sports or anything displaying large areas of a uniform color.

Dolby Vision Inspired by cinema technology, Dolby Vision HDR technology gives an astonishing brightness and contrast depth by 40 times brighter and blacks 10 times darker than standard picture. The Hisense is also a bit better for gaming as it supports VRR for much less screen tearing than the Samsung. It has very good coverage of the more commonly used DCI-P3 color space but can't display the full range of reds or greens. It has very low input lag, ensuring a smooth desktop experience, but it has just an okay response time, so there's noticeable blur behind fast-moving objects.

The A6G does support DTS Virtual:X, which is designed to give audio greater dimensionality, but the effectiveness of this processing is minimal. We uploaded the brightness measurements and uniformity photos after running the TV for two months in our Accelerated Longevity Test. The Hisense A6G includes a pair of downward-firing speakers, each of which has 8W of built-in amplification.

It has a built-in mic for voice control, and you can use voice commands to change inputs or launch apps, but you can't use it to change settings on the TV.While this isn’t surprising for a budget TV, it doesn’t necessarily mean the HDR performance will be bad – as long as the tone-mapping is good. Those short of space – or looking for a second set for a bedroom or kitchen – can opt for the 43-inch mode, while those with the means can go big with the 85-incher. Its audio-visual chops earned it four stars in our review, while the slightly lower-specced U7K earned the same score.

These TVs upgrade Hisense’s other lines’ traditional LED panels to Quantum ULED panels as well as supporting the full suite of HDR functionality, in addition to bringing full-array local dimming to the table. Hisense appears to be choosing different panels for different screen sizes, with the 50-inch model reviewed here using a VA panel. It's bright enough to handle a moderate amount of natural light, but it's a bad choice for a bright room, as it can't get bright enough to overcome glare. It has a wide viewing angle, which is great for a wide seating arrangement, as the image doesn't degrade much, even when sitting to the side.

On the other hand, the built-in Google TV smart interface has a huge selection of streaming services, and the TV upscales lower-resolution content well, which is great if you have a bunch of TV shows on DVD. The A6H does have a wider viewing angle, so if you regularly watch content in a group setting, it’s a better option for that. Game Mode Game mode boosts your chances of scoring legendary wins by significantly reducing input lag. In terms of other connections, there are terrestrial and satellite tuners, an AV input (adapter included), an optical digital output, an Ethernet port, two USB ports (2. Although it supports HDMI Forum VRR for gaming, it's still limited to a 60Hz refresh rate and doesn't support HDMI 2.
