All of you have probably heard of BOSS. This company makes excellent pedals and processors. However, it also has great pedalboards to offer. Gator's G-Tour Large is exactly that. With space for up to 14 regular sized pedals, this offering from Gator has a larger pedal capacity for those that need a few too many pedals in their chain. It's a super solid, durable pedalboard with two heavy-duty carry handles on either side, and although it runs the risk of looking pretty crude, the G-Tour Large does exactly what it needs to do - no more, no less. It’s a very common belief in the music world that modulation effect pedals should not be placed at the end of the signal chain because they can very easily overpower any effects that were placed before them. Time-related effects pedals are at the end This is one of the most interesting and recognizable pedals. When you think of wah, probably the first song that comes to your mind is “Voodoo Child” by Jimi Hendrix. The intro of this song is a great example of how expressive this pedal is; you don’t even have to play anything, just hit muted strings and step on the wah pedal. If you know what you are doing, it will sound great.

Of course, the pedal board comes in a bag. However, that is not all. You will also receive the Gator G-BUS-8 9v daisy chain power supply. This is a great thing because it is not very common to receive a power supply with the pedalboard. There are no zip ties, but fortunately, you don’t need any – the pedalboard surface is covered with Velcro. All your pedals need to be powered, but without a pedalboard, there’s a large chance that you are using a collection of different power supplies. Using a pedalboard usually comes with their own power supplies, which means that you’re only going to need one power outlet to power up your entire board! Protection

A pedalboard allows musicians to set up and switch up their pedals, chain them together, power them on, and ensure that they stay safe. Why do you need a pedalboard for your guitar? Power supplies can be mounted on top or below the Dingbat, and Voodoo Lab offers a few different bundles with power supplies included. You can go for either the eight-output Pedal Power 2 Plus and Pedal Power 4x4, or a 12-output Pedal Power MONDO. All of these options can be mounted underneath the ‘board using the mounting hardware included - but you’ll need a screwdriver.

You’ll find that most pedalboards (and certainly most on this list) are made from aluminum. Not only is it incredibly durable, but also doesn’t cost the earth - making it an ideal choice for some of the best pedalboards on the market. Some of it is spot welded, some is seamless and some cold-rolled - but it’s all largely the same in terms of strength. There are some pedalboards on the market that were built to withstand a lot of abuse and be extremely tough, but a pedalboard with a cover or a case can provide you with a little bit of protection, as well as peace of mind. It’s always best to start with a tuner, as you don’t want pedals getting in the way of tuning your guitar properly. Next dynamic effects like compressors and volume pedals, followed by fuzz, overdrive, and distortion pedals. If you have a boost pedal you can add it after your drive pedals for a boost in volume, or before to help shape the tone of your guitar.

It's only right that the pedal experts themselves get to have a go at pedalboards, and Boss do not disappoint with the BCB-1000. It's by no means the first BCB pedalboard we've seen from them, but perhaps the best to date. As its name suggests, with this pedal you can vary the volume of your output. Now, you may think: “But I already can do that with the volume knob on my guitar!” Well, that is true, but try to do it while you are playing a solo or strumming chords. Now so easy, right? In fact, it is almost impossible. You need the hand for both playing and adjusting the volume. With volume pedal, you can increase or decrease your output at any given moment. Having this in mind, I believe that the best advice is that, if you are a professional, you should get the guitar pedalboard on which you can fit your current pedals and effects. You most likely won’t change it radically in the near future. However, if you are a beginner, you probably have only a few pedals. When deciding on what type of case to choose, think about the application of the pedalboard. The over-the-shoulder carry bag is ideal for general pub gigs and travelling to and from the practice studio. The lighter weight means they are a breeze to carry around, and the smaller form means they fit easily in most vehicles. If you have just a few basic pedals, this is the pedalboard for you. It is as simple as it can be. However, it is very solid and extremely portable, so if you are looking for a small pedalboard, this one is for you!
