Now, let’s talk about some important reasons and benefits of studying the Seerah of Rasulullah ﷺ. 1. Knowing the History of Islam

In 1976 The Muslim World League, Rabitat-al-Alam al-Islami, announced a worldwide competition on writing a book on Seerah suitable for modern time. Over 170 manuscripts in multiple languages were submitted. A lot of researchers say this was a good thing. Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar) was awarded the first prize. The greatest of those who wrote was Urwa, the son of Zubayr ibn al-Awwam (RA), the grandson of the Sahabi (Abu Bakr). His mother is a Sahabiya (Asmā' bint Abu Bakr), his grandmother is a Sahabi, his brother is a Sahabi, and his aunt Aisha (RA) is the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ). However, he was born after the death of the Prophet, so he is not a Sahabi.

The name Nabi-ul-Malahim

The Arabic term Seerah or seerat is derived from the verb sara (سار), which means to travel or to be on a journey. A person’s seerah is their journey through life, or biography, which includes their birth, life experiences, manners and traits, and death.

When we look at the Ummah today, our hearts bleed and wonder why this is happening? We ask, how can we revive the state of the Ummah? The response is by studying the Seerah, we will see a methodology and a plan for revival. So these are the primary sources of Seerah. Modern-day researchers have added sources that were not found earlier in Muslim lands. For example, there is a new genre of research, looking into what the Romans or Persians said about the Arabs of the time.

The Seerah is the beginning of that miracle, how he lived, the power that he wielded, and yet the simplicity with which he lived his life, the sacrifice that the Sahaba would have done had he asked them to do. But he didn't. It is impossible for a human not to be affected by that power, luxury, wealth unless there is a pure divine sincerity that he (ﷺ) is doing it for the sake of Allah. The name أَحْمَدُ ( Ahmad) occurs in verse 6 of Surat As-Saff, (61:6). The name Ahmad comes from the tongue of Esa (AS). Insha'Allah (إن شاء الله - God willing), before we embark on the journey of seerah, we will study the Prophet's PBUH (ﷺ - May Allah Sends Blessings and Peace Upon Him/Peace Be Upon Him) shama'il (شمائل - characteristics) to build up even greater eagerness and motivation to learn about the life and times, the lessons and morals, the incidents that occurred, in the life of our Prophet Muhammad PBUH.Abu Hurairah (RA) and Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When a group of people assemble for the remembrance of Allah, the angels surround them (with their wings), (Allah’s) mercy envelops them, Sakinah (tranquillity) descends upon them and Allah makes a mention of them before those (angles) who are near Him.” [Sahih Muslim] 5. Knowing and Following the Best Human Being And in another narration: " And I am Nabi al-Rahma, and Nabi al-Tawba, and al-Muqaffa, and Nabi al-Malahim." The Quraysh resolved to become harsher in their opposition to Islam. They felt the only solution was to kill the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Abu Talib gathered Banu Abu Muttalib and rallied them to protect Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), even if they disagreed with what he said. He advised they all move to a valley owned by him on the outskirts of Makkah, called Shib Abu Talib. This was to protect the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and show solidarity.

ibn al-Zubayr (d. 713). He wrote letters replying to inquiries of the Umayyad caliphs, Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan and al-Walid I, involving questions about certain events that happened in the time of the Prophet. Since Abd al-Malik did not appreciate the maghāzī literature, these letters were not written in story form. He is not known to have written any books on the subject. He is reported to have walked with great strides and a faint somber aura, lowering his head as though descending from above.
