Description

The HS55 Wireless Core features large, 50mm neodymium drivers, custom designed by Corsair. Bigger drivers are able to move more air and, when tuned correctly, are usually capable of delivering a bolder, more impactful sound than smaller drivers. Despite their large diameter, the drivers are easy to power and can rise to ear-crushing levels, so you won’t need to turn the volume to max to hear enemy footsteps creeping around the corner. They feature a standard frequency response range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, which is roughly equivalent to the range of the human ear. It does inherit its 2022 predecessor's overall design and look, which I think is elegant and modern but still gaming-inspired. We also appreciate the attempt to deliver digital surround sound. Though this headset sounds more intimate rather than expansive like a proper surround sound, it’s great in terms of spatial audio. You can hear the different individual elements around you, whether it’s the wind going from right to left or a battle going on around you. Still, don’t expect a wide soundstage, as it doesn’t feel very spacious, limiting its immersiveness. Ultimately, this is a headset that pushes balance to the side and leans into its warm, boomy sound signature. You’ll be able to hear those competitive cues well — but if you want clarity and detail through the spectrum, this isn’t the headset for you. Microphone Quality on the Corsair HS55 Wireless Core

The Corsair HS55 Wireless Core offers — or, tries to offer — a lot for a relatively low price. This wireless, over-ear gaming headset is one of a few that features dual-mode wireless connectivity, meaning it lets you connect to two devices (using 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.2) simultaneously. Note though, that it does not support simultaneous listening from both sources the way the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro does. Regardless, this is a feature we don’t often see in less-expensive headsets. The biggest upgrade on the Corsair HS55 Wireless is in its sonic performance. While it does share a lot of similarities with the HS55 Wireless Core – they both tend to compress a little once the volume is over 50, it also corrects some of its predecessor’s flaws. So lets start with how it performed to me. Mainly in game I like sound a bit more with mids and highs than bass. I used hyperx cloud core before in some story games the dialogue volume appeared a bit low. But it has the perfect blance in audio frequency mainly for games. And as for comfort the clamping pressure of this headphone is bit high but you will get used to it.

For the price, the Corsair HS55 Wireless certainly hits that sweet spot between performance, features, and price. This model is finally winning.

Frequently asked questions about the Corsair HS55 SURROUND

The Corsair HS55 Stereo is the American brand’s latest excursion into the world of affordable gaming headsets. Featuring 50mm Neodymium audio drivers with a frequency response of 20hz to 20khz, the average gaming user will seriously appreciate the sound on the Corsair HS55 Stereo gaming headset. If you’re a PS5 owner, then it’s also useful to know that the HS55 supports Sony’s 3D Audio functionality, although you could argue that’s a given – pretty much every PS5-compatible headset offers this when connected to Sony’s next-gen gaming behemoth. PC - Connect the wireless USB receiver to any USB (type-A) port on your PC. Press the power button on the headset. The headset powers on in RF wireless mode by default. The headset is designed to operate at a range of up to 50 feet (15.24m) from the receiver, but other wireless devices, electronics and obstructions such as walls may impact performance. Technically the headset supports Corsair’s iCUE software, but there’s little reason to ever use it for this headset, or at least use it more than once. The only options it offers are the ability to update the firmware and pair the headset with the wireless dongle if it somehow becomes unpaired. It’s a shame, because even a basic EQ would probably go a long way toward fixing the headset’s sound quality issues. As it stands, I would recommend opening iCUE at least once to update the firmware on the headset and dongle. Battery Life of the Corsair HS55 Wireless Core

As i said audio is subjective so you may not like the software integrated 7.1 audio. But to me it is fabulous. The Corsair HS55 Wireless delivers a much improved audio performance over its predecessor and has a wider soundstage, thanks to the inclusion of digital surround sound. Validity : Extended Warranty will start after the Brand warranty ends & continues for 1 year/ 2 years as per plan. What's covered : The plan covers all defects & electric malfunctions as covered under the original Brand warranty.

Do not leave the battery fully discharged for long periods. Battery life is maximized by keeping the battery in a partially charged state. With it comes an eye-catching silver and white colourway, some plush memory foam padding, and 50mm drivers that should offer some decent all-round audio on a vast range of devices – from your PS5 to a Nintendo Switch and PC. Unfortunately, the newer HS55 Wireless isn’t quite as solid when it comes to the low end. In games like Control and Cyberpunk 2077, I’ve noticed that explosions and other sounds that require that rumble for maximum effect just don’t have it – unlike the older HS55 Wireless Core, which delivers enough of it to give you just a bit of that body-shaking immersion.

Now onto the audio, and the HS55 isn't quite as impressive in audio output as it is in mic input. It's not like the HS55 sounds bad. It absolutely doesn't. But it does have that definite twinge of cheaper driver sound that is a little too sharp in the higher frequencies. Unlike the H65, the HS55 Wireless also doesn’t have app support. We tried to use it with the Corsair iCue software, and all it allowed us to do was link it with the 2.4GHz wireless transmitter, which was moot as they’re already linked. This means that you won’t be getting proper EQ privileges here. COVERAGE: The plan covers all defects & malfunctions under the original manufacturer’s warranty. The plan starts the day after the manufacturer’s warranty ends. It does not cover physical or liquid damage, accessories, consumables or parts that are not covered under the standard manufacturer’s warranty. The performance of video conferencing and voice chat using apps like Discord, Zoom, Teams, or Facetime is outstanding, and while Corsair isn’t promoting the HS55 Stereo as a video conferencing solution, colleagues and friends will hear you loud and clear. The trade-off here is battery life. The HS55 Wireless claims to last around 24 hours, and in practical terms that's seen me only charge it one time in the past week of use. Not bad, but miles off the Cloud Alpha's marathon 300-hour battery life.
