Description

The 2009 French musical has him as the show's main host alongside being the lead party planner for Noddy's Birthday Party. He's frequently seen asking the audience to join on at certain moments ( such as following the instructions on baking Noddy's birthday cake , and asking the audience what type of birthday cake they like ). Voiced by: Jimmy Hibbert ( Toyland Adventures), Michael Stark (US Toyland Adventures)A toy elephant that would sometimes accidentally mess stuff up due to his weight. Sly and Gobbo put a sneezing spell on Mr. Jumbo by accident, he sneezes so hard that he ends up in the air. Villain Decay: While they were always bungling troublemakers to some level, they were more thuggish and creepy in the books and earlier works. Each adaptation gradually made them more into clownish Ineffectual Sympathetic Villains. The Unishment: In some episodes of Noddy In Toyland, their punishment for trying to spoil everyone's fun will be being made to take part in it themselves. While Sly, being a proud Fun-Hating Villain, always loathes this, Gobbo often ends up enjoying himself.

Bumpy Dog, a dog from the original books who lives with Tessie Bear, but he also accompanies Noddy on many adventures. Noddy first met the Bumpy Dog in Toytown because he was injured and Noddy used his scarf to help him. Noddy felt he was unable to have Bumpy Dog live with him, so Tessie Bear offered to keep him. Truman and Itchy want to see the antique horns that have just arrived at the Noddy Shop. Both need money if they want to use the horns on their bikes. Maybe they can help Kate and D.J., who set up a baked good stand outside the shop. The kids find a lost dog. Noah agrees to let them keep it until they find the dog's owner. Truman falls in love with the dog, neglecting Planet Pup- but what will he do if the owner is found?

Noddy has a bad cold, but Sly and Gobbo persuade him that his medicine Dinah Doll bought will have awful side effects. Bratty Half-Pint: While not to the level as Master Tubby, in the original books as well as Toyland Adventures he was prone to throwing tantrums when things don't work out well for him, getting scolded by Mr Plod, and other terrible situations he ends up in. In the original books, he would break down in tears as a result of his misfortune. Cross-Cast Role: Noddy is played by a girl in the 1994 live show , while some adaptations convey him with a female voice actress. For the Evulz: Well, not exactly "evulz", but in Noddy's Toyland Adventures onwards, they love spoiling other people's fun and pulling mean-spirited pranks for no reason whatsoever, other than the fact that goblins love to cause mischief.

In "Noddy in Toyland", their names have been swapped over - meaning Sly is the naughty troublemaker who seems to be the leader of the duo, while Gobbo is more ditzy and goofy. Pet the Dog: According to Make Way For Noddy, goblins have to do at least one good deed per year or their magic powers would be revoked from them. The two, with some expected struggling, manage to get it over with (they get Noddy's kite out of a tree, which they caused in the first place). They do have the occasional other nice moment in this and other adaptations as well. The Bartender: Child friendly case in Make Way For Noddy, where she is the owner of the ice cream parlour, the Local Hangout of Toyland. Ditzy Genius: Big Ears can be scatterbrained at times, but is generally the most intelligent member of Toyland.

This show contains the following tropes:

Women Are Wiser: Downplayed case. Tessie is often more rational and polite than Noddy, but equally naive. Big Ears, a wise, bearded gnome who lives in a toadstool house outside of Toyland and is Noddy's helper and father figure, as well as his best friend. He finds Noddy and brings him to Toyland at the start of the first book. Big Ears, while usually kind to Noddy, can be very fierce and is both feared and respected by goblins, wizards, and even Mr. Plod. Whenever Noddy is being mistreated, he invariably comes to his defence. Big Ears also has the power to cast magic spells, though he rarely uses it. His catchphrase is "You funny little Noddy!", and he made his animation debut in the 2002 computer-animated television series Make Way for Noddy.
