Description

If you’re more interested in keeping yourself to a single faction, whether that’s for ITC faction purposes or just because you wouldn’t dare besmirch the Hive Mind with something so lowly as a cultist, then combining the Kronos and Leviathan Hive Fleets offers you a fair suite of options. This list makes the best of the two Start Collecting: Tyranid sets and two boxes of Termagants, giving you a decent core of Troops and good Synapse with some mean melee potential. You can use terrain to keep most of your models safe (or at least partially defended) and use the burrowing power of the Rippers and Trygon to spring a nasty second turn assault/objective capture. Using Synaptic Lure, your Trygons are going to have a decent chance of making combat from reserve at a rerollable 8″ charge. Fun, somewhat strong, and (important to a lot of players) relatively inexpensive. The Harpy is still the other flyer, and at range it is effective against elite threats. It can perform bombing runs or deploy D3 Spore Mines at the end of a Normal Move.

Hive Guards are mildly telepathic, allowing them to "see" through the eyes of all other Tyranid organisms, effectively allowing them to shoot at a target without seeing it, by utilising an unconscious wealth of incoming tactical and targeting information. In addition they can also command, through a complicated series of mental stimuli, the shard-beasts bonded with the ammunition they fire, to change vector whilst in flight to successfully home in on targets. [1] These are species associated with the Tyranids only in earlier editions of WH40K. In game terms they are no longer part of Tyranid armies. HQ: Malanthrope [8PL, 150pts] Warlord – Swarm Leader, Alpha Leader-Beast – Strategic Adaptation (-1CP), Relic – Adaptive Neural Lobe She believes it is possible, but it will take a hivemind mentality to do so. “There’s a lot that humans can learn from as a societal structure, from honeybees themselves,” she adds. They are coming! I feel them scratching inside my mind, scratching, screaming, running, so many – so, so many voices. They are coming for us – flesh, body and soul!”

The Books

Maleceptor [10 PL, 185pts]: Massive Scything Talons, Power: Onslaught, Synaptic Link: Focal Essence [1 PL, 15pts] The Tyrannofex is the toughest unit in the index and adds damage reduction to make it even harder to kill. It has three gun options including the anti-heavy weapon shown by the WarCom faction focus, the acid spray for killing elites, and a high shot weapon for clearing chaff. Most of the other 9 th edition core rule changes are generally applicable to every army–if you’re not up-to-date I highly suggest you go read up on them.

One-third of the food we eat is at risk because the climate crisis is endangering butterflies and beesTyranid plants that reach the upper atmosphere (and beyond). They link up with hive ships in low orbit, and then pump the biomass upwards to the waiting biovessels. [9a] [9b]

Norn-Queen • Hive Tyrant • Neurotyrant ( Neuroloid) • Broodlord • Neurothrope • Tervigon • Tyranid Prime • Trygon Prime • Malanthrope They spawn from the vast clouds of spores that Tyranids plant during the beginning stages of a planetary harvesting. [9a] [9b]The Leviathan Supplement builds on the core of a 6+ Damage Prevention Roll/Feel No Pain subfaction trait with a range of powerful Stratagems and Warlord Traits. Being able to run Warlord Traits that aren’t embarrassing is rather new to Tyranids players who’ve been used to giving theirs up for an Adaptation for over a year, and the new options don’t disappoint. TR: 3 Tyranid Warrior [5PL, 75pts] 3 Lash Whip and Bonesword, 3 Pair of Scything Talon, Synaptic Link – Bioweapon Bond

H. Joseph Gerber Award of Excellence presented by the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering in partnership with the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Impaler Cannon - The living shard beasts of the Hive Guard's Impaler Cannon are little creatures that guide the large harpoon like spikes. These bony missiles are twice the height of a man and can be fired indirectly at targets in cover. It can even be used against transports and other lightly armoured vehicles in a pinch.I’m very much looking forward to playing more with this rules set. It’s powerful in a way that doesn’t go far from what was good before, which will let existing players leverage their muscle memory with the faction, but also brings in some new options to keep up with the big hitters much more than before. The Tyrannocyte can carry up to 20 INFANTRY or one MONSTER with a Wounds characteristic of 12 wounds or less. Infantry models with more wounds take up the space of 3 models, so you can either carry 20 Termagaunts or 6 Zoanthropes. Regardless of any mission rules the unit can be set up in the first, second, or third turn. Once set up the embarked units must immediately disembark and cannot be set up within 9” of an enemy unit. The Tyrannocyte itself does have an OC 2 so you could potentially use it to deploy and then sit on a marker. Let’s take a deeper look at the Tyranid units and how the rule and point changes are looking to shake things up… Tyranid Warrior ( Shrike) • Ravener • Genestealer • Gaunt ( Termagant • Hormagaunt • Barbgaunt • Neurogaunt) • Ripper ( Sky-Slasher)
