No. It's the book. And as far as my lightsaber, I wasn't properly focused before. Now I am. Now…the Force is with me." ―Skywalker and Holdo [165] I'm going to tell you what the other Jedi you've met haven't. Even Yoda. You don't have to be a Jedi, friend. […] There are many other paths. The important thing is to make choices that feel right, that are true to you and the person you want to be. But if you want it, we're here for you." ―Elzar Mann to Luke Skywalker [155] The Legends of Luke Skywalker frame stories take place years after Luke Skywalker's disappearance but before his death in Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary places Luke Skywalker's disappearance six years before the Starkiller Incident and the events of Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi in the same year as the Starkiller Incident. Star Wars: Galactic Atlas places the Starkiller Incident in 34 ABY meaning that Luke's disappearance was in 28 ABY and Luke's death took place in 34 ABY. Therefore, the earliest that the frame stories took place was 30 ABY and the latest they took place was 34 ABY. If the Empire is here, then what I sensed is true. There must be something special about this place." ―Luke Skywalker to R2-D2 [187]

Skywalker learned through Kenobi that his father was once a Jedi Knight of the Galactic Republic and began his path to be a Jedi under Kenobi. Uncommon Knowledge

Once inside the facility, they revealed themselves as rebels to Overseer Aggadeen, took their escorts down and made their way to the central power station. While Organa, Solo, and R2-D2 rigged the place to destroy it, Skywalker watched for additional Imperial troops, using what little he knew of the Force to reach out and sense any nearby presence. However, he was drawn to caged slaves, whom he proceeded to free, and guided them to a rendezvous with Solo and Organa, when they were alerted of Vader's arrival by Chewbacca. [12] Rogue Group, use your harpoons and tow cables. Go for the legs. It might be our only chance of stopping them." ―Commander Luke Skywalker, during the Battle of Hoth [9] Haunted by the truth of his parentage, Skywalker found his connection to the Force considerably weakened, with his control over it remaining sporadic. Aboard the Falcon, after introducing Skywalker to Calrissian, Organa informed Skywalker of what had happened to Solo. Skywalker wanted to begin searching for his friend immediately, but Organa told him that there was more at stake than just Solo's life and it would be best to reconvene with the Rebel fleet first. He revealed that he had received no response from reaching out Kenobi, but she assured him that he was strong and would find his way. With Skywalker agreeing to her plan, the Falcon jumped to hyperspace. [138]

Remember, my son, no matter how dark the night may grow, you are never alone. You will know what to do, my son. Let the Force guide you. Let it flow through you as it flows through me. Use that power, and your instincts, for they are one and the same." ―Anakin Skywalker, to Luke Skywalker [7] Skywalker nevertheless accompanied his friends on the mission to the forested moon of Endor to destroy the shield generator that protected the DS-2 Death Star II Mobile Battle Station in orbit, volunteering immediately upon arrival at the Rebel briefing above Sullust. As they approached the moon on the stolen Lambda-class Imperial shuttle Tydirium, Skywalker sensed Vader's presence on the nearby Super Star Destroyer Executor and realized his presence was endangering the mission; yet, it was his presence that prompted Vader to allow their landing. Upon doing so, the Rebel force was discovered by a small force of Imperial scout troopers that were guarding the shield bunker, and Skywalker and Organa pursued them on speeder bikes. Though they successfully stopped the scouts, Organa became separated from Skywalker. [10]Just as Skywalker reached the end of the trench, it appeared as though Vader would shoot him down like he had the other pilots, but before he could, Han Solo and Chewbacca showed up in the Millennium Falcon, destroying Vader's two escorts and causing Vader's TIE Advanced to spiral out of control away from the trench. At Solo's urging, Skywalker took a single shot and fired two proton torpedos, using the Force to guide them to their target, which resulted in the destruction of the Death Star. For this action he, Chewbacca, and Han Solo were awarded the Medal of Bravery the next morning. [1]

In 3 ABY, [37] Skywalker and the Rogue Squadron were transferred to the Echo Base, a rebel base on the iced planet Hoth, where he participated in regular patrols of the frozen perimeter under the callsign Echo Three. [9] Upon Skywalker's arrival at Echo Base, Rebel leadership expected him to use the Force to help excavate the tunnels by sensing where and when to dig, even though he was unsure of how to do that. His belongings, including his lightsaber, were placed in a decontamination unit in case of off-world pathogens. Sergeant Reyé Hollis from Rebel Alliance Special Forces was assigned to familiarize him with the location. After they introduced themselves to each other and shook hands, Skywalker declared that he was there to help. [129] Skywalker hoped to get to know Hollis since they would be working together, and they both thought the other had attractive qualities, but the sergeant's anti-Jedi sentiments gave Skywalker the initial impression that the other man disliked him. He did not recognize that Hollis had a Naboo name, but he could sense that Naboo was beautiful through Hollis' mental images of home. Hollis made a derogatory remark about the Jedi and Skywalker defended them. He also promised not to let the Naboo man down, just before a giant fork-nosed ice worm broke through the ground next to them and they were trapped by a cave-in. [129] What's this, a Jedi with feelings? I thought that wasn't supposed to happen. Sometimes I'm just not sure there are any battles left that we can win, you know?" It has to be worth it. So many people are counting on us." ―Skywalker and Organa to C-3PO on King Lee-Char [102]Shortly after, he had a vision of Han Solo and Leia Organa suffering at Cloud City on Bespin. Unable to get the visions out of his head, and convinced that his friends would surely die if he did not help them, Skywalker decided to end his training prematurely to rescue them, despite Yoda and Kenobi's insistence that he was not ready to face the dark side on his own yet, but Skywalker was convinced that he would learned enough to hold his own, and he could not just stand by and leave his friends to the mercy of the Empire. [9] But this…place, whatever it is. I'm seeing it for a reason, Lor. I can feel it." ―Luke Skywalker to Lor San Tekka on his visions [7]

It'll be like old times, Luke. They'll never stop us." ―Biggs Darklighter, to Luke Skywalker, just before the Battle of Yavin [1] A Jedi…I was afraid my dreams of killing one were dashed. […] I'd been informed the Jedi were extinct." The Starship Graveyard" features the Battle of Jakku, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 5 ABY. Skywalker was disturbed by feeling powerless to help and only watch the ships get destroyed, but Solo sent C-3PO in an escape pod to the hangar bay, who informed him that they could leave by flying at the doors. Skywalker rallied all of the fighters to get ready to launch and readied R2. Dodonna commed Skywalker, who informed him of the situation, but Dodonna warned him that they needed to test the doors first, which Skywalker ignored. [105] The Rebellion command has been decimated. Every candidate of quality needs to step forward." ―Mon Mothma and Leia Organa, the former speaking to Organa, Skywalker, and Solo via hologram [108]

Luke Is An Expert Mechanic

C'mon, are you out, farm boy? Or are you in, Jedi Knight?" ―Aphra and Luke Skywalker on the visit to Ktath'atn [84] The Battle for Jakku is considered the last major fight between Imperial forces and the nascent New Republic which emerged from the Rebel Alliance. It ended with the decimation of the Imperial fleet, approximately a year after the Battle of Endor and the death of Emperor Palpatine. According to the gunner narrating "The Starship Graveyard," Luke saved his life on the surface of Jakku, protecting the wounded Imperial from sandstorms and eventually setting him loose to return to the remnant Empire. However, according to Imperial interrogators, Luke Skywalker wasn't anywhere near Jakku during the battle, making this another legend of the Jedi's deeds. Luke Wore C-3PO's, uh, Skin? While still escorting more of the Kezarat convoy to the Alliance fleet, Skywalker felt a disturbance in the Force while on the Millennium Falcon. He explained to Organa that it was not like the one he had felt in No-Space but instead felt like the deaths of innocent people, and that it was nearby enough that he could bring them there. Organa agreed to go despite the fact they were supposed to be escorting the convoy. When they arrived, C-3PO revealed that the moon did not appear on any star-charts. Organa wondered if it was erased by the Empire, but Skywalker said it was not and pointed out an ancient lightsaber like none he would ever seen before. He and Chewbacca then noticed that there was a large amount of destroyed droids that were cut down with a lightsaber. They all realized that a battle had been fought there, and Skywalker put together that it had been between droids and people, and since there were no battle droids and no remains, it must have been hundreds of years earlier. Skywalker realized that the battle was not what he had sensed and instead lead them to a homesteader ship that they found to be full of bodies. C-3PO offered to secure the Falcon but Skywalker said it was not necessary. Skywalker asked R2 to plug into the ship and see if it had any information about the moon they were on. R2 revealed it was called Kligson's Moon. Skywalker suggested that the carnage there may have recently happened and the perpetrator could still be there, and suggested splitting up into pairs to search due to the size of the ship. [167] I'm sorry, Lando. I'm sorry for everything. And of course it means the same to me as it does to you. That family needs us. We might be their only hope."
