Even if you’re a camera shutterbug, spend all day scrolling through social media, or have a major mobile game addiction, it’ll be a genuine challenge to fully drain the battery in a single session. Reusing the same low-tier CPU as last year stifles performance, and the decision to stick with a 60Hz refresh rate is a head-scratcher. gaming will sap the cell a lot quicker, but it should still last twice as long as a Google Pixel 7a. The modest hardware helps, of course, but it’s the software tweaks that mean this phone merely sips power, others are gulping it down. The 'x:CIE31' and 'y:CIE31' values in the table below the chart indicate the position of each measurement on the chart.

Sony Xperia 10 V review: Stubbornly solid | Expert Reviews

Another phone that instantly comes to mind is the significantly cheaper yet still competitive Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro. The Sony Xperia 10 V is the Mo Farah of modern smartphones—humble, honest, admirable, and ready to go the extra mile (pun intended). Everything’s simplified in a more intuitive way, which should go a long way in encouraging experimentation.Due to the lightweight plastic build, the entire phone rattles and buzzes whenever it attempts haptic feedback, making typing a somewhat jarring experience.

Xperia 10 V review: Alternatives, pros and cons, verdict Sony Xperia 10 V review: Alternatives, pros and cons, verdict

We can't fail to mention the excellent battery life the Xperia 10 V manages from its 5,000 mAh battery and now with notably faster charging, even if still rather slow in the grand scheme of things. This film also affirms much of what we felt from Rogue One, including the vibrant colours and excellent clarity. Sony has improved the Xperia 10 V’s display compared to the 10 IV, but not in the way that we would have thought obvious.

It perfects an already great formula, adding stereo speakers, a brighter display, a slightly better main camera, and keeping the same stunning battery life in a very compact and lightweight package. One thing you will miss out on with the Samsung is a telephoto camera, but you get 4K video capture. Though the bog-standard one has a couple more buttons and icons than most to tempt you away from the path of point-and-shoot photography, the Pro mode always watching in the corner can be quickly toggled to get much of the same manual control over your shots as you would with a proper DSLR frame. We’re used to punch-holes and notches now, but it’s still refreshing when a phone lands with an uninterrupted view.
