I agree with the first two of your three comments. Chopin is smooth (VERY) and almost flavorless. However, I disagree with your description about the significant amount that it burns when swallowed. I have never had that experience with Chopin Potato Vodka. It has virtually no burn. I find Chopin to be a terrific shooting vodka, but it is too flavorless to make a tasty martini, unfortunately. I would say that it is very similar to Ketel One overall, though Ketel One has a little more flavor. In contrast, Luksusowa has loads of flavor. In its older formulation, Luksusowa was nearly as smooth as Chopin, but the newer version is a little less smooth. Extract the concentrate juice from the cucumber and mix all the ingredients with Koch El Mezcal ensemble. Very smooth, hardly any burn, aftertaste is not unpleasant. Probably the best potato vodka out there.

This is my first potato vodka. I love the mouthfeel. It’s interesting. There’s nothing unpleasant, and of course it has a burn. It’s 40% ABV, how could it NOT have a burn, unless it contained a topical anesthetic ingredient? But it’s a mild burn, and I like it. I just realized that I never updated my Chopin rating from 4 to 5 stars, as I had intended on May 29, 2011. I am attempting to do this now. I mixed Chopin with orange juice. At a moderate mixture, I imagine most would have a hard time detecting any flavor in a Chopin screw driver. I detected a very, very slight bitter flavor. When I mixed it a little stronger, the bitters came out even more. Unless you’re trying to get smashed, I doubt you’ll be mixing it strong enough to matter. Ultimately, Chopin is a great mixer. Opinions I tried this recently, as I found some heavily discounted 375mL bottles. I tried it slightly cooled and even tested it head on versus Blue Ice, Sobieski, and Belvedere. I like it most as a shooter. I found it had a slight flavor that made it unsuitable for mixing with Code Red. My friend had a similar experience with Diet Mountain Dew, which he said was just funky. I think it would mix well with a Bloody Mary or other non-sweet drink. OJ mixed OK. It seemed generally smooth and not too bitter on the aftertaste. In my opinion, this is by far the smoothest vodka for martinis. My favorite to enjoy Chopin is chilled straight up with blue cheese stuffed olives and a dash of olive juice.
