When making an oil cleanser for dry skin, the key to success is selecting ingredients that help to moisturize the skin and care for the skin’s natural moisture barrier. A grapeseed and lavender oil cleanse provides a complete dry skin treatment. But after years (well, over a decade) of the unsuccessful attempts of having clear skin with countless commercial treatments (both over-the-counter and dermatologist recommended), and frustrations with my skin, I finally read more about it. Shop by skin type: When choosing a cleansing oil, look for ingredients that solve your skin’s specific pain points. “For acne-prone skin, rosehip oil can be helpful,” says Hadley King, M.D., clinical instructor of dermatology at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York. “It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.”

I really apologise that you're having a hard time to find Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil. Also, The Simple team would like to assure you that we're still manufacturing the product.

Oil cleansing should be the first step in your daily skin care routine and can be safely used twice a day. Whether your skincare routine involves one, three or more steps, it could benefit from an upgrade by adding an oil-based cleanser. Why? Because these kind of cleansers do it all, from gently dissolving stubborn, waterproof mascara and make-up to lifting away debris from clogged pores. Post-rinse, your skin will be left feeling soft, dewy and primed for the rest of your beauty regime. Depending on your skin type, a cleansing oil may be the only cleansing step you need. One of its biggest benefits is that it leaves the skin hydrated. "I like cleansing oils because they're moisturizing, gentle on the skin, and excellent at breaking down stubborn makeup, even waterproof formulas, without causing irritation or stripping the skin of its natural oils," Yadav says.

Go light: Oils with a lighter consistency are preferable (though not mandatory), as they’re less likely to clog pores. Look for cleansing oils that use sunflower, avocado, or camellia oil as a base. “These ingredients cleanse, hydrate, and have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties,” says Ramya Kollipara, M.D., board-certified dermatologist at Westlake Dermatology in Dallas. Removing dirt and skin oils with more oil was once unheard of in skincare, but they have now been fully embraced by dermatologists and beauty editors everywhere. You may also follow with a water-based cleanser if you wish to double cleanse. Oil Cleansing at Home This differs from what water-based formulations do and are all the more gentle for it. "As [water-based formulations] contain water as a key ingredient, they remove water-based impurities, such as sweat and dirt from the skin," explains Dr Phillips.

Most major skin care brands offer at least one oil-based cleanser. These cleansers are typically formulated using a mixture of oils such as argan, rice bran, rosehip, camellia and more. DIY oil cleansers Vitamin E and sunflower oil benefit the skin and help balance out dry and oily patches," says Dr Phillips. "Vitamin E also helps remove impurities, while maintaining hydration and doesn’t tend to aggravate oily areas of the skin." Generally speaking, people with dry skin benefit the most from using an oil-based cleanser. However, that does not mean that oil-based cleansers should be avoided by other skin types. Note that you do this on a dry face, with enough oil to easily massage your face. Also, you really need to give this at least 30 seconds (1 minute is optimal), because this enables the oils to properly dissolve the excess oils, dead skin cells and everything else that should come off your skin. Step 3. COVER THE FACE WITH A WARM/LUKEWARM WASHCLOTH While many people enjoy the effects of oil cleansing, there are also other options for maintaining clean, healthy skin. Water-based cleanserIt depends on the formulation. If you have oily skin or are prone to congestion, Dr Phillips advises against using cleansing oils composed of a single oil blend without surfactants or emulsifiers as they’re more likely to clog pores. Instead, try ones that contain ingredients, such as peppermint or tea tree oil for a more clarifying cleanse. Suitable for even the most sensitive skin, this face cleanser contains no artificial perfume or colour, and no harsh chemicals that can upset your skin
