This product is suitable as a localised ‘problem solver’ for cold external walls and is not recommended for use in fire escape routes inside your home unless the surface is further treated with a fire retardant covering. This product is class Efire rated andshould not be used for projects such as new builds and extensions where Building regulations are applicable.

Great surface for paint or paste-the-wall wallpapers (read more below if you'd like to use paste the paper wallpapers)This is an important consideration, as it means that the thermal liner won't trap moisture in the walls, and prevents the fear of potential damp and mold problems. To further increase the fire protection, we have devised a system to achieve a Class 1 rating - see the performance report here When used in isolation this product is suitable as a localised ‘problem solver’ for cold external walls and is not recommended for use in fire escape routes or on ceilings. Thermally efficient wallpapers hold more of the heat energy from the room’s air at the wall surface helping to combat the conditions which promote condensation forming and mould growing.

You do need as PigletJohn says to consider window reveals/eaves etc otherwise you end up with fat walls that don't work where there is a detail. Alternatively, wallpaper can be applied directly to the surface. We strongly recommend a ‘Paste-The-Wall’ type of wallpaper.Mark the wall away from the corner approx. 70cm (thermal Liner) 95cm (KV600) and draw a plumb line (straight) to start from.

I've personally not used it as a retrofit solution(only new build) so I can't give an idea of costs (and I would be wary of a cost per m2 as it will vary hugely depending on the complexity of the job), I have however seen it used successfully and attractively by others so it may well be a possible and practical solution. A. Yes you will do, especially when the heating is first turned on as room warm up time is reduced dramatically and the air currents that make you feel cold whilst a room warms up are also reduced. This is of course in addition to all the other benefits such as a reduction in noise entering through the treated wall.A. Two main reasons, 1) It makes it much easier to achieve a nice neat finish with minimal filling and sanding 2) It helps protect your investment from damage creating a good base for paint or decorative wallpaper at the same time. We'd not recommend putting ceramic tiles over the thermal liner. If you want to hang ceramic tiles over the thermal liner, please use the Professional Insulation Panels instead. It's always best to choose a breathable thermal lining paper option, and KV600 is one of the most trusted on the market. Only paste the wall enough for 1 strip at a time leaving it wider to make sure the edges are covered and to reduce the amount on adhesive that will be applied for the next strip on the edges.

Retro fitted cavity wall insulation doesn't have this and can in some cases act as a bridge for penetrating water to the inner leaf of the wall causing damp, the wet cavity can also lead to premature corrosion of wall ties. This is more likely on a Victorian cavity wall than a larger modern cavity wall. Lots of the companies that put the CWI in also don't have the best reputations.NB This is not a dedicated sound insulation product and the control of noise pollution is a complex subject so we cannot guarantee satisfactory results. For comprehensive information we recommend that advice from a specialist consultant is sought. Lambda, this measures the efficiency of an actualmaterial. So, the more efficient the material the less you need of it to feel warm and cosy. the units used are Watts/Metre xKelvin. A. The roll are extra wide so each roll will cover 7.5 m2 or 121 ft2.
