If you’re having issues with your boiler, it may be time to invest in a new one. Depending on the type of boiler you choose this can be quite expensive so it’s worth doing a little research to find the best boiler for your home. With a wide range of boilers on the market, things can get a little confusing. Take a look at our new boiler cost guide for more information. As in the above section, make sure to completely switch off your boiler at least four hours before you start work to give it sufficient time to cool down You should ensure the heating is turned off before repressurising the boiler as it will sometimes fire up as soon as it reaches the minimum working pressure. It’s a daunting issue when you own a Worcester Bosch boiler: no hot water flowing despite things appearing as they should.

You can do this via a drain-off valve. A drain-off valve can be on the boiler, a radiator valve or anywhere on the central heating pipework. Easy-Fill filling link with blue handle: These are on the latest Worcester boilers (thankfully). This will simply need to be pulled to top up and then released to stop filling. You should never look inside your boiler, only a Gas Safe engineer should do this. Why would you need to repressurise a boiler? If the boiler pressure drops, it means the water is getting out which should not be happening. Worcester boiler low pressure If you’ve got an old Worcester Bosch boiler that’s frequently showing signs of trouble — either pressure issues or any other faults — and it’s out of warranty, you may want to stop splurging on repair costs and consider a new boiler. The PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is a key electrical component, which function as the boiler’s brain. Essentially, it allows all of the boiler’s electronics to communicate with each other. Since the PCB controls the boiler’s safety devices, it’s imperative that you get it looked at ASAP, so call your boiler care provider or a Gas Safe engineer without delay. Keep in mind that your warranty will be valid provided that you keep up with your annual maintenance after installation. Not providing the yearly service might dissolve the warranty.

You can use our guide to diagnose a faulty diverter valve here; it’s typically the problem when the central heating system works but there’s no hot water in your taps. There are two main reasons why your Worcester boiler’s losing pressure. Firstly, leaks in the system can lead to a loss of water pressure – so look around your pipes, radiators and boiler for any damp patches. Mind you, we don’t necessarily mean a leak in the boiler itself. Any leak throughout your central heating will cause a boiler to show a dropping pressure gauge. This could be a pin-hole in a radiator, a loose connection on a rad valve, or even a weak soldering joint on the copper pipe. For older Worcester Bosch boilers, problems with ignition may stem from an issue with the pilot light. That’s because these older models aren’t equipped with electronic ignition, and thus rely on the pilot light to fire up. Not every boiler is the same, so the process may be different for each machine. We’ll be exploring a few different methods to repressurise a boiler so you may prefer to skip ahead to the relevant section of this guide to save time.

On that note, the annual Worcester boiler service in London is a must. This will prevent you from experiencing these issues often or at all. All things considered, you should not worry if you run into an issue because this is pretty normal. Word of caution

Do not open both filling loop valves fully straight away as the water pressure in the house might be too much for the boiler and cause the boiler pressure to shoot up too much. When the boiler is offline and the pressure gauge shows a reading of 0.5 bar or lower (which is in the red zone on the dial), the pressure is too low. Find the filling link in the newly opened boiler. This is a small hole slightly to the right of a white square in which the key will slot into. When the water is entering the system, you should keep an eye to the pressure gauge looking at the front side of the boiler.Open a drain-off valve on the Worcester boiler or central heating system with a hose attached and let the pressure drop. If you have a Worcester bosch 4000 combi boiler then you can choose this as an optional extra. If you do have this system then make sure that you are not trying to top up the water pressure yourself. If you aren’t sure what problems are covered under the warranty, go through the documentation that came with the unit. You can also get in touch with the manufacturer and ask away. The most common cause behind low boiler pressure (and this goes for all boilers, not only ones made by Worcester Bosch) is a leak.
