If you selected SCYTHE then there would be some sudden upheavals in health or everyday work. Everyday work can be on the job if it is not a career per say. The Health card rules health and also work as stated above. If you selected the HOUSE card it could indicate that a family member is involved. If the card was the FOX this can suggest something is wrong in the areas depicted by 6th House. FOX is also about strategy so a restructuring could be going on …and so on. The theme of the reading would revolve around this although not every house card will tie in perfectly. The theme is a major highlight. Any of the months could expand on it. As an astrologer, I was dubious about what the cards could do when I first got them. I have come to love their imagery and the many ways to work with them. The sample year readings provided are great and useful for working with clients as a complement to progression, transits and solar return readings. I have also used them working with a client to pin down an ascendant or moon placement when they aren’t sure of their birthtime. I cannot recommend these cards highly enough for Tarot readers, practiced or astrologers-in-training, those curious about planetary and house meanings or simply lovers of beautiful objects! The book is rather comprehensive and not very large, which means the text is very, very small. All cards get two or more paragraphs of text. The second or last paragraph includes the interpretation. The book is kind of confusing as a basic introduction to astrology, especially the spreads. They’re based on houses, and months, and ??? I think I’ll pass on them but try some of my own houses spread ideas. And I may pull into service my handy Keywords for Astrology book if I need more info than the card keywords. The Health card not only represents one’s health but also everyday work. Sun in Virgo rules the sixth house of the Zodiac. (house 6 also rules small animals) The Theme card for female L highlights her physical well-being. It is quite possible she will at some point during the Reading forecast adopt a new health related regime. This card also means that female L may be involved with finely detailed aspects of her job such as more organization, cataloguing or editing content (paperwork). One’s health is affected by one’s every day work. If you are overworked the stress can affect your general health. It affects sleep, nutrition and attitude. Someone else’s health could be a worry. In the March 2015 spot (far left of layout above the April 2014 card) the Acquisition card Sun in Taurus suggests female L will come into some money or at the very least something of value. This card also shows a minor dispute over possessions. More Saturn! I really did shuffle, I swear! Its strength is that it uses the traditional art, the firm foundation if you will, of astrology in a new way. On the other hand, it might be too traditional and faithful for the meaning to be really clear?

I won’t go through the entire Reading but will select certain months to write about which I think are of interest. The Elemental Tarot is so named for its use of the four elements, earth, air, fire, water, and then the fifth, holistic Universe element represented by the Major Arcana. For the Minor Arcana, the element earth refers to pentacles, air to swords, fire to wands, and water to cups. The symbols for the elements are at the very bottom of every card. The holistic Element for the Major Arcana is represented by an oval, Water by a half moon turned on its side to take the form of a cup or bowl, Earth by a square, Air by a circle and Fire by a triangle.
