ABSTRACT: Postpartum depression is a common complication related to childbearing with an estimated prevalence of 10% - 15%. These papers were misrepresented in the STARLITE analysis as they were not reports of studies but rather methodological papers on how to do them, as indicated in each of these papers.Studies that met the inclusion criteria were assessed for quality using a standardised tool, the Effective Public Health Practice Project tool. En la última década, innumerables publicaciones han apuntado hacia la relevancia de este tipo de estudio y los diferentes métodos para conducir la síntesis de investigaciones cualitativas. This book, written by two highly-respected social scientists, provides an overview of systematic literature review methods: Outlining the rationale and methods of systematic reviews; Giving worked examples from social science and other fields; Applying the practice to all social science disciplines; It requires no previous knowledge, but takes the reader through the process stage by stage; Drawing on examples from such diverse fields as psychology, criminology, education, transport, social welfare, public health, and housing and urban policy, among others. Working with these reports underscored the importance of looking past method claims and ideals and directly at the findings themselves, differentiating between aggregative syntheses in which findings are assimilated and interpretive syntheses in which they are configured, and understanding the judgments involved in designating relationships between findings as confirmatory, divergent, or complementary.

In each case I was able to focus my findings regarding the books from the perspective of an organizing theme making the composing of the review quite manageable and hopefully, the end product more readable for the audience.Metodene for gjennomføring av oversikter med kvalitativ forskning er i rask utvikling, og det fins for øyeblikket ingen standard tilnærming. Ten qualitative studies describing different perspectives on women’s experiences of postpartum depression were summarized and synthesized using Noblit and Hare’s 7-step meta-ethnographical method.
