Having your own towel for traveling the world can be immensely useful. Going to the beach? The towel will keep the sand off your ass and out of your portable speaker. Use that towel to soak up any leftover moisture in those boots (maybe do that after washing yourself though) The fabric is 85% recycled, which is excellent, and while we found it wasn’t as absorbent as some microfiber towels made with fluffier materials, it does the job it’s designed for admirably (Sea to Summit state it soaks up three times its weight in water, but then it weighs next to nothing when dry).

These are great, as they are easier to reach for in a loaded suitcase, and you can also use them to avoid the bulk when going to the beach.

Compact – A microfiber travel towel should take up as little room as possible. They should fold up smaller than a tank-top. These towels seem to be very much a towel for life. As mentioned, some of ours have been heavily used for 20 years retaining their looks and functionality. I’d say that was a big advantage. We live in the tropics and most of our travels have been tropical. We know these towels work for tropical conditions.The Nomadix is a bit more expensive than other towels and quite larger as well. That being said, the larger price tag is more than justifiable – this towel will last longer than most and you will definitely get more use out of it. There’s no bag included with this one, but you can wrap the large elasticized hanging loop around the rolled-up towel and that keeps everything nice and tidy. The same loop is ideal for securely hanging the towel from a tree (or whatever else you have nearby) while it dries in the wind. It’s hard to know what is the right decision currently hopefully things will be clearer soon. The size you buy for your children will be dependent on their age and gender, a medium should be adequate for boys, larger for teenagegirls and up. Like most synthetic fabrics, you should avoid putting your microfibre towel in the washing machine at a high-heat setting: this will only melt the fibres. Also, avoid using bleach or fabric softener as the former will erode those ultra-fine fibres and the latter will cause them to clump together.
