So how does Tensor compete with the competition? Looking at the comparison, single-core speeds are matched with the Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100, but Qualcomm and Samsung’s top-end mobile chipsets both outperform Google’s in regards to multi-core processing. The Apple A15 Bionic found inside the iPhone 13 is still top dog in both metrics. Overall, performance was at least on par with top-flight rivals: responsive, smooth and snappy all round.

It can also be fully charged at lightning speed, thanks to 30W fast charging which gets you from a dead battery to 50% in 30 minutes. How much does the Google Pixel 6 Pro cost? Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro: For '24-hour': Estimated battery life based on testing using a median Pixel user battery usage profile across a mix of talk, data, standby and use of other features. Average battery life during testing was approximately 31 hours. Battery testing conducted on a major operator network. For 'up to 72 hours': Estimated battery life based on testing using a median Pixel user battery usage profile across a mix of talk, data, standby and use of limited other features that are default in Extreme Battery Saver mode (which disables various features including 5G connectivity). Battery testing conducted on a major operator network. For both claims: Battery testing conducted in California in mid 2023 on pre-production hardware and software using default settings, except that, for the 'up to 72-hour' claim only, Extreme Battery Saver mode was enabled. Battery life depends upon many factors and usage of certain features will decrease battery life. Actual battery life may be lower. In these portraits of Mark Spoonauer, both phones took different approaches to the final images. The Pixel zoomed out a bit while the iPhone brought things in a little closer to focus on Mark’s face. Both phones had to compensate for the direct sunlight on the subject and both did very well, even if the Pixel compensated better in my opinion. The blur radii are very artistic, too. I think either portrait is great, but I prefer the color tones in the Pixel’s image. Heading indoors to this produce stand, the Pixel’s shot is brighter and compensates better for the harsh lighting above. The iPhone warmed things up a bit too much in response to the cool lighting, and the image is overall dimmer than the Pixel’s. I think Google’s phone wins here. Pixel 6 Pro's 6.7-inch Smooth Display is made with Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus™, the toughest Gorilla Glass yet, with up to 2x better scratch resistance than previous Pixel phones. And with IP68 protection, it can take a little water and dust.Pixel 6a: For '24-hour': Estimated battery life based on testing using a median Pixel user battery usage profile across a mix of talk, data, standby and use of other features. Average battery life during testing was approximately 29 hours. Battery testing conducted using sub-6 GHz non-standalone 5G (ENDC) connectivity. For both claims: Battery testing conducted in California in early 2022 on pre-production hardware and software using default settings, except that for the 'up to 72 hours' claim only, Extreme Battery Saver mode was enabled. Battery life depends upon many factors and usage of certain features will decrease battery life. Actual battery life may be lower. Google’s exciting Tensor chipset is taking picture editing to the next level. You can add blur, remove blur, even remove unwanted people and objects from pics! It’s like having a Photoshop app built-in to the handset. How long does the Google Pixel 6 Pro battery last?

What about raw speeds? In the Geekbench 5 single- and multicore CPU tests, the Pixel 6 Pro scored 1,039 and 2,926 respectively, which brings it roughly in line with Google’s performance improvement claims. It’s not quite a match for the Galaxy S21’s Exynos 2100 processor, however, and the iPhone 13’s A15 Bionic chipset still takes the top spot, but where it counts the Pixel 6 Pro is as speedy as you’d ever need it to be. With all these impressive specs and features, there had to be some weakness that might deter some from it and with the Pixel 6 Pro, it's the battery. It's certainly more than adequate for most tasks and provides a full-day usage, but we have noticed that it doesn't last as long when the phone is pushed harder than usual with graphically intensive tasks or when shooting 4K video or actively using the GPS. This is surprising because the 4,905 mAh capacity here is nothing to poke fun at in terms of pure numbers. The fast charging is also a bit underwhelming here - capping at 30W. At the very least, it goes to 50% in 30 mins. Wireless charging, on the other hand, is acceptable with up to 23W. Pixel 6 Pro: Price UK It isn’t just the hardware that’s seen a significant overhaul. The Pixel 6 also comes with Android 12, which brings with it a radically updated look and feel, courtesy of Google’s new “Material You” design language.

Tensor: Google's Own Powerhouse

It’s the same story with its gaming capabilities. Reaching an average frame rate of 83fps in the GFXBench Manhattan 3 onscreen benchmark, the Pixel 6 Pro is well suited for any game you might care to throw at it, and you might even be able to use that 120Hz screen to its full potential, too. x 1080 (1080p) at 30 fps, 1920 x 1080 (1080p) at 60 fps, 3840 x 2160 (4K) at 30 fps, 3840 x 2160 (4K) at 40 fps The Google Pixel 6 Pro keeps going for the whole day thanks to its big 4,905mAh battery. You can even bump it up to what Google says is 48 hours of use providing you switch Extreme Battery Saver mode on. The first processor designed by Google and made for Pixel, Google Tensor makes the new Pixel phones our most powerful yet. Capture brilliant colour and vivid detail with Pixel's best-in-class computational photography and new pro-level lenses.
