As we move toward our journey into whisky, we're delighted to release the first rum from the Outer Hebrides. Aromas of raisins, butterscotch and sweet spices fill the nose, and the palate offers notes of dark chocolate, orange peel, banana, raisins and caramel.

The aroma carries the presence of coconut and clove to start, shortly followed by a crisp maritime freshness.

This adds a creamy depth to the drink, along with a seashore feel that almost lends to a sweet salty essence to the flavour profile which is matched perfectly by the brown sugar caramel and coconut. Share a taste of the elemental notes found within their Island Dark Rum, a spirit with the essence of their Island home, delivers the elicit connection of the land and sea, an unbreakable bond.

Standing out in the Atlantic on the far western edge of Scotland, you’ll find the Isle of Barra distillery. Infused in their Outer Hebridean Island with carrageen seaweed, coconut, cardamom and orange, among a host of other botanicals. The distillery now employs six people who all work passionately to grow the company and awareness of the island.

The first batch of gin was distilled in August 2017 and the distillery will be releasing some island whisky in the near future. Infused with their signature botanical, Carrageen seaweed, their award-winning Island Dark Rum is also infused with coconut, cardamom and orange peel.
