Description

This product is not a toy, but a well engineered compact mixer. Ideal if you are restricted on size whilst transporting it about. There are competitor products around that may look the same. After researching the spec I believe the Wolf to be the better one. The half horse power belt driven power unit is a substantial beast. A sensible safety cutout switch is well placed on the steel casing. I say it is well engineered, it is. For small, household DIY projects, you’ll want a cement mixer with a mixing capacity of around 45 – 90 L. For reference, a 90 L mixing capacity will give you a full barrow-load of cement/mortar. Petrol mixers can be used anywhere and don’t need to be used near a power source– this is why they’re commonly used in professional settings. They tend to be more powerful than electric versions – which may well be unnecessary for standard DIY. For some smaller jobs and DIY projects, you may not even require an expensive cement mixer; instead, creating a cement mix on a mixing board can be viable. This is done by combining small amounts of your base materials with water on a clean surface to produce smaller batches of concrete in a controlled manner. While this concrete mixer weighs 45.5 kg, it’s fairly manoeuvrable thanks to the two wheels, although it can struggle over uneven ground so is best wheeled over flat areas.

A petrol model cement mixer will often be more expensive than an electric cement mixer, especially when factoring in fuel costs, as will those with a larger drum capacity. Charles Bentley has been operating in the UK since 1860. Founded as a brushmaker, they now focus on home, garden and leisure products. These days the company has grown to produce DIY tools and equipment, most notably with a popular line of 63-140L tilting cement mixers, which are aimed at DIY-ers and available for a very competitive price compared to other cement options. Klutch Benefitting from a sizable 135L reinforced metal mixing drum, you can easily produce over 250lbs of concrete per 3-5 minute batch using this thing, which is more than enough to satisfy any DIY or home improvement project such as a new driveway, patio or concrete walkway.

We love that the whole cement mixer unit is contained within a bespoke frame, featuring a large tilting handle and hard-wearing rubber wheels. This allows this cement mixer to be moved, filled and used to pour your finished concrete without requiring any assembly or disassembly as you work. Don’t get caught out when trying to work out the capacity of a mixer. Manufacturers often state both the mixer’s entire volume capacity, as well as how much mixed material it can actually hold. Scheppach manufactures woodworking and construction equipment for commercial and professional use, with their UK sales managed by Scheppach Direct. Their electric tilting cement mixers can be found with drum capacities stretching from 125-180L, they’re fairly inexpensive compared to similar brands, and each mixer comes with a 2-year warranty. FAQ’s Is it worth buying a cement mixer? At face value, purchasing a cement mixer will be more expensive than renting one, but top cement mixers will last for years and are excellent for home building projects. This Handy Electric H-frame Cement Mixer is an excellent all-rounder. It has a reliable 550 W motor that works well to power the 125 L drum and is suitable for small/medium DIY jobs.

Choosing the Right Capacity

Many peoplemake themistake of buyingsomething cheap because they wont use it very often but that is the wrong thing to do.

There aren’t many downsides to this machine, although it’s worth bearing in mind that the larger size may complicate storage. There we have it that just about covers the best cement mixers we’ve found across the UK, covering everything from mixing capacity and drum speeds to durability and portability of a mixer! Designed for small-scale building projects, this concrete mixer has a 63 L drum capacity which can mix up to 47 L. This equates to approximately half a wheelbarrow of mixed material – perfect for small-scale projects. We were impressed with this cement mixer and the model’s slow-start function, which ensures that the mixer gradually ramps up to its selected speed once turned on, helping to prevent any spillages or splashes if you’ve accidentally left it on a high-speed setting during storage.

About us

One benefit of small cement mixers are they are easy to store and transport. A portable electric model, weighing around 30 kg, will be more manageable to move around, e.g., up steps or over difficult terrain (though you might have to mix cement in smaller batches). For easier transportation and storage, consider a cement mixer that divides into two pieces. Bear in mind that materials like cement will only be usable for about an hour after being poured from the mixer; therefore, it’s important not to make too much or it will be wasted. For reference, if a cement mixer has an 80 L capacity, its contents will roughly fill a standard wheelbarrow. Ease of Portability and Size It has a 220 W Hyundai engine which creates a powerful and reliable cement mixer. It can be plugged into the mains and has a 3 m cable for easy placement. The drum mouth is 26 cm wide which helps with loading. Larger 120-160L cement mixers are more suited to laying your average 10m2 patio or a small driveway, producing around 250-350lbs of concrete per batch, with about 7-10 batches equalling 1m3 of wet concrete.
