They might not tour next month, or later this year, but there are talks about shows in 2023, or may be not until 2024, as we are told by spring time 2023. Keith Richards was on great form tonight, sharing the guitar parts more equally with Ronnie Wood. Richards solo spot combined an elegant and understated Slipping Away with a rousing lurch through Connection. A lengthy Midnight Rambler featured a snatch of Come On In My Kitchen whilst Jagger added a snappy coda to You Can’t Always Get What You Want. The waiting was easy but when who go to a show the best thing is to see it , not spend easy time before ... The temperature had dropped as we left record warm Lyon for Paris. On show day, it was cloudy, humid, and 24 C (75F). Then during the afternoon the clouds were gone, and it was much warmer. By show time just after 9:30pm, it was a pleasant temperature. Keith said he was not sure if he ever would return to Paris for another performance, but he was there tonight still - may be they do see the end to their sixty years long career after all, at one point.I noticed Steve Jordan when I wanted, which means that he graduated with honours in the practice of replacing Charlie. You had to be a trained Stones observer to notice any difference to any other show in this, I think their 7th, Milan show. The first two were in 1967: this was the third at the massive, famous, San Siro soccer stadium. That trained observer would have noticed one additional ballad-like song in the setlist; a little less dancing around from Jagger, although he did sprint all the way down the catwalk to grins from Keith and Ronnie at one point; and maybe a bit less shouting at the microphone.
