Hi Momma Bear. I can understand your anxiety on this. I’m not sure how old your daughter is. Also it is a little while since i read the books but I’ve had a look through to remind myself. Hey Momma Bear. I haven’t read this book to give you an honest answer so I will ask the contributor who submitted this recap to respond. 🙂 The Shatter Me series is a YA Fantasy Romance. So let’s dissect that. First, Romance is an important aspect of the plot and it does contain romantic elements. But it’s also YA, or Young Adult, meaning that it’s meant for ages 13 to 17. If you are Team Warner, you know what happens in Chapter 62. If you’re Team Adam, let’s pretend those events never took place.

His lips are softer than anything I've ever known, soft like a first snowfall, like biting into cotton candy, like melting and floating and being weightless in water. It’s sweet, it’s Believe Me”, a fifth novella written from Warner's point of view, is set to be released on November 16, 2021. What the novellas do is provide extra insight into the world of Shatter Me. They’re often from a different POV. For instance, Destroy Me, the first novella, is from Warner’s POV. He is the villain of the first novel. The fifth and final novella in the Shatter Me series is a sequel to the explosive conclusion of the final novel. Life in the aftermath of The Reestablishment’s destruction is not easy. Juliette and Warner are working with their friends at the Sanctuary to stabilize the world with limited resources.Arab American Book Award Winners". ArabAmericanMuseum.org. It’s much easier for me to deal with than when an entire book is written in a different dialect, like Goddess in the Machine. Who is Tahereh Mafi? With a gloved hand to avoid her skin, Warner’s father pins Juliette against a wall by her throat. She believes he is going to kill her, but once he disarms her of her guns, he lets her go. He calls Warner in and tells him to shoot her. Instead, Warner points the gun at his father. His father recalls the 10 previous times Warner threatened to kill him. Warner’s father points his own gun at Juliette. Tahereh Mafi is a best-selling YA Fantasy author best known for the Shatter Me series. However, she’s also written other books like This Woven Kingdom and A Very Large Expanse of Sea. The latter was named one of the best YA books of all time by Time Magazine. It is revealed that Kenji is a member of the Rebellion against the Reestablishment, called Omega Point. Adam, Juliette, and James are recruited by, and then join the Rebellion.

Warner is held hostage within Omega Point, and Castle wants Juliette to be in charge of his interrogation. Although thrilled at his confidence in her, Juliette is secretly terrified. She has not told anyone that Warner can touch her. Fortunately, Warner soon admits his ability to Castle. Flawless, especially as he stands here among the dirt and destruction, surrounded by the bleakest colors this landscape has to offer. He's a vision of emerald and onyx, silhouetted in the sunlight in the most deceiving way. He could be glowing. That could be a halo around his head. This could be the world's way of making an example out of irony. Because Warner is beautiful in ways even Adam isn't.” SHATTER ME (review)". Dolly. November 2011. Archived from the original on 2014-10-28 . Retrieved 28 October 2014. After his mother died, Adam’s father would visit their home just to get drunk and beat him. He would throw his empty liquor bottles at Adam. It is intimated that if Adam flinched, he would get a worse beating. One day, the Reestablishment, a government that has the world within its grasp, comes for Juliette. It is revealed that Adam is a soldier for Warner, the chief commander of Sector 45 of the Reestablishment. Warner, who is also the son of the Reestablishment's Supreme Commander, makes Juliette an offer that includes her being able to get out of the asylum in turn for her torturing any prisoners with her touch as a weapon for the Reestablishment.Adam storms out then Adam and Juliette have yet another emotional scene in the corridor. Warner arrives on the scene, apparently having been released, he and Adam square up for a fight. Both Juliette and Kenji rush to break them up and Kenji is afflicted by Juliette’s touch even though she is not touching him. He passes out. Juliette thinks he is dead. How does Unravel Me end? Juliette managed to escape The Reestablishment by seducing Warner and leaving him with a near-fatal bullet wound. This novella from his perspective reveals more about his feelings for Juliette. Shatter Me is the first in its series. An e-book novella titled Destroy Me, set after Shatter Me and before the sequel, Unravel Me, told from Warner's point of view, was released on October 6, 2012. Unravel Me, the second book in the series, was released on February 5, 2013. A second e-book novella titled Fracture Me, set during and soon after the final moments of Unravel Me, told from Adam's point of view, was released December 17, 2013. The third book in the series, titled Ignite Me, was released on February 4, 2014. On the same day, Unite Me, containing the two novellas combined into print for the first time as well as an exclusive look into Juliette's journal, was also released.

One side effect of this is that throughout the book there are crossed out lines, as if Juliette is writing in a journal and crosses out things she initially wrote, but changed her mind. Rebolini, Arianna (September 23, 2015). "37 YA Books You Need To Add To Your Reading List". BuzzFeed . Retrieved September 24, 2015. After being remonstrated by Castle for not getting information that would help find Winston and Brendan, Juliette hurries to question Warner again. She asks him about his tattoo and he shows her another low on his abdomen that says, HELL IS EMPTY AND ALL THE DEVILS ARE HERE. As if time were the kind of thing you could run out of, as if it were measured into bowls that were handed to us at birth and if we ate too much or too fast or right before jumping into the water then our time would be lost, wasted, already spent.Warner proposed to Juliette two weeks ago and wants nothing more than to marry her, but there is not time for a wedding amidst the chaos surrounding them. Juliette is also distracted by everything else they need to do. Their future together finally seems to be within reach, but will Warner and Juliette ever be happily together? Yeah, bro.” Kenji puts his utensils down. “You are moody. It’s always ‘Shut up, Kenji.’ ‘Go to sleep, Kenji.’ ‘No one wants to see you naked, Kenji.’ When I know for a fact that there are thousands of people who would love to see me naked—” I can't understand why I can still hear him speaking because I'm dead, I'm already dead, I've died over and over and over again. desperate, like he has to have me, like he’s dying to memorize the feel of my lips against his own. The taste of him is making me crazy; he’s all heat and desire and peppermint and I want more. I've just begun reeling him in, pulling him into me when he breaks away. I want so many things," he whispers. "I want your mind. Your strength. I want to be worth your time." His fingers graze the hem of my top and he says "I want this up." He tugs on the waist of my pants and says "I want these down." He touches the tips of his fingers to the sides of my body and says, "I want to feel your skin on fire. I want to feel your heart racing next to mine and I want to know it's racing because of me, because you want me. Because you never," he says, he breathes, "never want me to stop. I want every second. Every inch of you. I want all of it."

The same can be said of Find Me. It contains both Shadow Me and Reveal Me (also listed separately above), the two later novellas. Is Shatter Me Spicy? Castle reveals that Warner’s father (the supreme commander of The Reestablishment) has come to Sector 45 and has taken four of Omega Point’s men hostage. Tattoos, for example, are very hard to forget. I think there's something about the impermanence of life these days that makes it necessary to etch ink into our skins. It reminds us that we've been marked by the world, that we're still alive. That we'll never forget.” Adam and Warner face off, Juliette stands between them, and then Kenji is badly hurt when he touches Warner because Warner was channeling Juliette’s energy.

Juliette has been hiding within the safety of Omega Point, a bunker/training facility/mutant zone, for the past two weeks. Although at first relieved to learn that other mutants exist, she finds herself sinking into despair. The others have powers to heal, direct electrical currents or become invisible. Only she has skin that, when touched, can kill. The others inside the bunker fear her because she is deadly. As the people in Omega Point ready for battle in the morning, Warner comes to Juliette’s room at night. He asks her to leave with him. Even though he hates his father, he will not fight against the Reestablishment, as he believes it to be a lost cause. In her dark room, he touches her skin and begins passionately kissing her. He carries her to her bed. As they continue to kiss, he asks her to call him by his real name, Aaron. In that moment, she remembers Adam and says his name instead. Warner is hurt and furious. He escapes Omega Point that night. Juliette,” he says, and he mouths the name, barely speaking at all, and he’s pouring molten lava into my limbs and I never even knew I could melt straight to death.
