Description

Give self-saucing chocolate pudding a festive twist. This melt-in-the-middle pudding is filled with hazelnuts and topped with Ferrero Rocher. This concoction, which has been coined “The Ambassador’s Golden Balls”, is dusted with a fine golden dust to mimic a Ferrero Rocher’s metallic foil wrap.

The bigger-than-baseball sized treat weights 125g and is made of milk chocolate and a hazelnut shell.

We’re big fans of those hazelnut, chocolatey balls here at Delish. But there is one thing we think would improve them tenfold, and that’s making them much, much, MUCH bigger. Scoop the choux paste into a large piping bag, then snip the end so you have a hole about 4cm in diameter. Heat the oven to 160ºC fan/ gas 4. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the butter, eggs and 100ml of the milk. Add the additional 50ml milk as needed to give the mixture a loose, dropping consistency. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet and spoon into the baking dish. Easy swaps: Swap the Ferrero Rocher for Ferrero Raffaello, then top with melted white chocolate instead of milk/dark and toasted coconut for a white Christmas twist. The traditional chocolate has been given an update by gourmet brownie company Bad Brownie, which is surely to be a popular item for any party this year.
