Pineda, Rafael (September 20, 2015). "Shonen Sunday Anime Shorts to Air on TV with IRiS Opening". Anime News Network . Retrieved January 27, 2023. I like all the characters. It's a shame that the 2 best friends of Arisu die too soon. I wanted to see them more in the story, but like the story said at some point, their deaths are " necessary evil" for Arisu to mature.

Retrieved March 30, 2022.Lately, I've been on a reading manga phase, and while I just recently started reading Manga, I can whole-heartedly say, that this series is probably (one of) the best manga I've ever read. To top it all off, the art gets better and better, and has this sort of gritty, surreal nature to it :) Come from Netflix series because I can't wait for ss2! Finished the whole manga within a few days and it was such a pleasure experience Ressler, Karen (June 25, 2014). "Japanese Comic Ranking, June 16–22". Anime News Network. Ahora, su vida cambia por completo cuando un día, tras un espectáculo de fuegos artificiales, tanto él como sus amigos aparecen en un extraño y peligroso mundo paralelo: lleno de juegos a vida o muerte, en los que tendrán que servirse de todas sus capacidades si quieren salir airosos; sin embargo, ¿necesitan ganar todos los juegos también para volver a casa? i felt that arisu and his friends' ennui is better captured in the manga versus the tv show, because there's more space to flesh out the characters’ feelings prior to diving into the explosive alternate tokyo. the only part of the tv show that i preferred to this source material is chota's characterization - he's kind of a perv in the manga but more endearingly awkward and soft in the show?? LOL.
