She makes a big scene of rushing up on stage and kissing him during a play at the end of their senior year of college...and then she runs off, decides not to become a nun, has a one-night stand, and gets pregnant. Through the decades she's remained emotionally close to Marcus, but they've never gotten together, despite obvious mutual interest.
