Players will flip over sun tiles, revealing an animal, and attempt to add that animal to the animal tower without knocking it over.

Mountain: You may place an animal such that it’s touching the mountain panorama (or an animal already touching the mountain panorama). The name’s kind of a mouthful, now that I get around to typing it, but the game itself works pretty well. A true HABA classic made in Germany, this game is fun for the whole family and a favorite for Adult Game night too!Animal Upon Animal Junior keeps the DNA of its big brother without dumbing the game down or making it less fun. The collapse rules in the 2-player game still makes Animal Upon Animal competitive but one (or more) collapse most likely does take one of the player out the game with this player count. We did start to use the variation rules which ask you to use all remaining animals (so you then have 14 each instead of 7) but even the 2-player version with these rules is still not much fun.

There definitely aren’t Complex Friction Mechanics at play like there would be in Catch the Moon, but that’s probably fine for this game. Sure, in the past I’ve found some games that I’ve convinced them to play but I lose more than I win with that battle.All of these educational elements will be undertones and unbeknownst to the players they are learning as they play. The game is pretty straightforward; like most stacking games, you seek to stack the animals as best as you can. As with the other game mode, take a sun tile if no animals fell down, and whoever has the most sun tiles at the end of the game wins.
